The last time I tried, which was a while ago, I put the cable in the spot and took out the cables the PS3 came with. When I tried to turn it on it wouldn't work. I have an HDTV & plugged it in right. I'm confused. PLEASE HELP! Do you need certain HDMI cables or what?

well first you need to make sure that you plugged the hdmi in the right place. Those cables look like they can go into a usb spot. However it could also be that the cable is broken. If its not try different cables for the ps3 because the ps3 might be broken.

I think you have a very simple problem that's very easy to fix. First connect the HDMI cable to the TV and PS3 and make sure the TV has the correct in-put selected and the turn the PS3 on from standby using the power button but instead of releasing the button when the PS3 powers up keep holding your finger on the button until the second beep and then release the button. I played around with this one day and it worked everytime as long as you release the button on the second beep. It also works if you change from HDMI to the AV connection.
