Work. It's summer. Mow lawns, save your allowance, ask your family members for cash for b-day and/or Christmas. Just start saving up kid...you should be able to get one by Christmas.  I promise that once you have one, you'll be really proud of yourself and you'll LOVE it. 

Do some summer work.

Or save up allowance and stuff. I saved up $500 of allowance to get the PS2 when it came out, so you could be able to do this. Of course I had it planned to get it, so I saved BEFORE it came out :D . Oh and, $500 Canadian.
