I was playing GoW2 (awsome game) after playing PS3 for about 3 months. And wow, I am surprised how far PS3 has come in terms of graphics, textures, ect... But that was to be expected. Now what got me was the rumble. Yes. the rumble. I can honestly tell you that I never missed it, and now finally exericencing dualshock again, My impressions haven't changed. The rumble was kind of annoying, always ... well, rumbling, lol. It was very loud too. I could hear the rumble over the game, and it didn't make me fell like i was more involved in the game. Maybe this is because I am used to Tilt, but anywho, my point is... I don't miss rumble,

And on a side note - PS3 for 3 months, not one problem!

I laugh at all the people that say "oh noes no rumble is the sucks!"

Rumble was barely noticable in games.  It is one of the most overrated elements in video games.  There are only a few places in a handful of games where rumble is somewhat useful--MGS, GT, and it would be cool if the controller rumbled when one of the Chimera grabs you in Resistance.  Other than that I would much rather have tilt.  How cool will it be to play Lair and Warhawk with tilt--you won't get that mind blowing experience on one of the other consoles.

When you say the ps3 has come a long way do you mean the PS2?

as far as the rumble goes, yea I don't mind a console not having rumble. I mean my wii has it, and sometimes its nice on Zelda when it cues you at the right time, other times yea it can be annoying.

I don't miss rumble unless it's a racing game or a game like Silent Hill. In SH, the rumble really put you in the mood because often you would feel an enemy closing in on you before the radio would start to make noise. Other horror games also incorporate rumble as a lifeline/heartbeat of sorts.

Yeah, rumble was good in some games. I like rumble an all, but don't miss it. One week with a PS3 and you'll never even notice it's gone.

Personally, I really miss the rumble feature & will buy a controller with it if they decide to make one at some point.  But it's not a deal-breaker or anything, just a personal preference.

I would rather have rumble built-in and have the choice to turn it off than to not have rumble at all.

listen to the recent 1up podcast, they talk about F1 and the lack of rumble, they really complain about it. and I think in that podcast they said that games might lose points not because of the game but because of the system hardware itself, example: No rumble

before anyone kills me, let me listen to it again to make sure i'm not wrong about the losing points thing, if I made a mistake I'll be right back to correct myself.

Rumble is nice when it's used effectively, but not just for gunshots and explosions. MGS is the most prominent examples of using the rumble feature to it's extent, but few games even attempt for that sort of callibur. IMO, it's sad that it's gone (for now) but it really doesn't matter.

Vibration in my controller during a nuclear exploision is not immersive, it's silly.

No rumble kinda sucks....BUT,who really cares?.I went decades with no rumble so I'll survive :)

The only thing that does bother me about it is the fact that Immersion forced them to take it out.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry I was wrong! just listened to it again and what they said was that you will read a lot of reviews that say "the biggest problem with the game is not the games fault its the PS3's fault"  "it felt a bit dead and thats because there wasn't any feedback"

then again maybe I'm not completely wrong, they didn't say the games would score lower, but you figure if complaints about the game comes from lack of rumble, that can be a reason to take points away, but again, they said that problem won't be for everygame.

they compared the whole thing to the PSP, the games are good but the hardware takes away from the game, only one analog stick, or the fact that the analog stick is too sensitive.

so I think that rumble was important and will be missed, they also talk about what the excuse is going to be if sony brings rumble back after they said it wasn't needed.

Personally I don`t miss rumble, and I prefer the SIX AXIS the game play whit it its really cool

And I have a Theory  maybe Sony didn´t put rumble because of the live of the battery of the SIX AXIS, but thats only my opinion

I like rumble, but that isn't enough of a reason to bash any console. I don't really like the tilt and stuff because it will be gimmicky on PS3 since it isn't as integrel as it is on Wii. Some games will make good use of tilt but to me it is more of an extra that doesn't really matter like rumble.

You kind of don't care about the rumble after a while.
