To me out of all of the elders scroll games oblivion was the worst one.Sure the game had great graphics but there were just more things to do in Morrowind. Now I have never played Fallout 3 so I can't compare the game to that.Oblivion had a terrible leveling system, and certain things just did not make sense.Like certain armor like Daedric,Dwarven, and elven armor were all suppose to be rare yet once you got to the right level everybody and their mamas had it on.It made no sense.Morrowind had more skills to choose from.
Why were there even skills like Security when technically security did not do anything.Case in point,ANYBODY COULD PICK A LOCK.It made no sense at all.Spells pretty much did not fail.In Morrowind there were chances that spells would fail. The point is.Oblivion is a fun adventure game that had it's good parts but to me it was also a terrible RPG,the whole 'lets let the world evolve around you thing kinda made it hard for me to get into.Trust me you are not the only one who did not like oblivion.
I don't know why! I just hate Oblivion. The Monsters/Enemies are HELLA difficult very early into the game. To be fair though it does have GORGEOUS graphics. But, IF i had to compare it to Fallout 3 i would have to say that Fallout 3 is a far superior game in terms of leveling up and combat. SO what do you guys think? IS it just me? or do other people feel the same way?wishbone345I disagree completely. It was hard for me to get into Oblivion, but after awhile, it got so insanely awesome.

Fallout 3 far superior?, Fallout 3 is the worst piece of **** I've ever played from Bethesda. I find the aiming system just horrible and I find it such a lack of imrovement in comparison to Oblivion. Oblivion really jumped a milestone with how much more quests, more caves and more things to do. I'll admit it has less variety in weapons but I cant say thats a huge factor for me. Really its about which one you play first. Oblivion was my first. Oblivion had a huge world and I loved the exploration you could do. With fallout 3 theres about 20 vaults spread out across the map and a few subways and caves. Oblivion had hundreds of caves .I'v e played both games through and I find that theres less to do in Fallout 3 in comparison to Oblivion. Its also Oblivions setting I prefer. I just hate using guns in Oblivions engine, it doesnt work and it never will.
I'll admit that Oblivion was rushed in comparison to Fallout 3, or arguably you could say Fallout 3 is more rushed depending on how you look at it. Oblivion had a few bugs and glitches and some things just didnt make sense like how you could be the Hero of Tamriel, be a knight of the Nine and be in the Assasins guild. Fallout 3 on the other hand could be said as rushed since I find it lacks content and heck that Find good armour all the time problem is in Oblivion and Fallout.
I dont understand how you can find Oblivion so difficult. Yeah it is hard but its not much to deal with. I think you might be playing it wrong e.g. using bows with a guy who sucks at bows.
it's weird how some people can pull off 100 hours on it and some people can hardly pull off one :|
the gap is so huge.

I experienced the EXACT same thing.
I beat Oblivion once on PC and once on PS3, and still haven't done anything with one of the expansions. I recently bought Fallout 3 though, and I like it sooooooo much better than Oblivion. It looks better, and the leveling system is back to gaining exp from quests and kills. I also agree on Oblivion about the difficulty of the monsters. If you don't plan your character right in Oblivion, you'll end up gaining levels from running around and using skills that don't help you kill things. Then, the monsters level up with you, and if you go to a quest that was originally not too hard, it will then be filled with leveled up monsters that easily kill the NPCs you're with. The positive side to Oblivion is that you can keep playing after you finish the game.
Still, I prefer Fallout 3 by far, also for the much improved voice acting and facial expressions... and a story you can actually care about. And don't forget trophies! I just finished Fallout 3, but I have about 50% more trophies to go. What a great game.
