The problem here is that I got the YLOD today... and it is a day after the so calledapocalyps3. I was not even on my PS3 yesterday when the uproar happened so today they said they fixed the problem and all of a sudden during a NBA2k10 game it goes out on me...wtf!
I do not have my warrenty anymore, but I think that this apocalyps3 thing caused it. I hope I have a case here. What do you think?

No.
The only problem with the ps3 was an internal error making the ps3's internal clock think it was a leap year which caused a problem. The second it became march first the problem was resolved. Some people even reset their ps3s clock back one full day and the problem was resolved simple as that.
If you did not turn on your ps3 your ps3 never aknowledged that it was feb 29th and you never had apoclyps3.
So no your ps3 just died. They are reaching their life expectancy if yours is old enough.
However if you want to for the cost of only 10 bucks as you are past your warranty anyways.
Open it up apply some thermal paste to the processor and save yourself ylod.
thats all it takes. However it has to be done before ylod not after so you are sol but anyone else should heed this advice.
