all the games i want have no availabilty

I was waiting for socom for like 5 days it finally comes,i play for 5mins realize its crap and send it back tomorrow first thing.

I joined for assassins creed and drakes fortune but theyre all sold out

only good games left are ones i allready have.

so should i a) cancel membership (allready paid $16 for the first month) or b) get another game

if its another game which would be the best option ?

Warhawk (is it good ?)

Virtua Fighter 5 (played it for like 30 seconds demo, didnt really like it)

or Splinter Cell (played the watered down xbox version,it was ok)

warhawk is very fun... been playing that since release.... played halo 3 then came back to warhawk because its more fun... though it doesnt have a single player mode, still well worth it

if you didnt like demo for virtua fighter you wont like full game

im not a fan of the splinter cell games... more a metal gear fan here.

you need to have like only the game you want on your "Q", before it comes out. then when it comes out, you'll get it. also dont put games you kinda want b further down on your list if they have a higher avail. they will always go down and send whatever has the greater avail regardless of how you have you "Q" set up

I'm in the same boat as you I just joined, and I have like 7 PS3 games at the top of my list and a few PSP games underneath. thye sent me two PSP games. I guess I'll just cancel after this month. oh well, I'll just go back to buying and selling when I'm done. that way I get the games immediately then make good money selling them when they are still new.

plus gamefly is slow to ship. pittsburgh to philly took 6 days...that's a joke.

lol i tried gamefly for about a month and a half, i think i only received two games in that time frame (both of which had been at the bottom of my list), whats more is that it was Tenchu Z (fun game for the first few missions, then ugh), and Ultimate Alliance...and i had sent both back within two days of receiving them. failed=gamefly

on their defense its not their fault we choose bad games lol

but all the good games are allready taken though so yeah it actually is.

i had it before, every game i got i returned the next day

now i dont know how im going to play assassins creed and uncharted, renting them at blockbuster or something is like $7 for 3 days thats unbelivably expensive.Wait, doesnt blockbuster have a gamefly type thing.that might just be movies.do they do that for games ?

very true, i was sort of naive about tenchu, a friend of mine and bought it, told me it was good, i ordered it and by the time it arrived i found out my friend had already sold it...bastard lol

and blockbuster is movies although i think you can pay extra for games (not to sure though)

but they do give you a monthly e-coupon that allows you to rent a game for free...really not the same but ah well

If your wanting a first run game all you have to do is make sure you have an open spot for it to get filled. If you have ANY open spots in your Q, and you have games in your Q that are already out, you run the risk of having that sent to you instead. I got Halo 3 on the VERY next day after release. I've gotten Assassins Creed, Uncharted, The Orange Box, Ratchet & Clank Future, Mass Effect, and some other games, typically by the Friday or Saturday after they come out. It's a GREAT service if you know how to work it.

Plus, if you buy the games once they come to you, you save money vs. buying them new. First run games are typically $10 cheaper right off the bat. Only after all of these great holiday releases are done and I've played them will I start getting the other stuff back onto my Q.

Blockbuster has gamepass but it's in store only for $21.99 one game at a time. The game selection was not very good at the store I got it from. And they don't have new games until 3 to 4 day after release sometimes. Some games like lego star wars and stanglehold they never got. But I always checked back on Thursday or Friday to see if a new release came in and I always got the good games first like R&C, AC, and Uncharted. With Uncharted I canceled my pass a few days before my pass would renew and got uncharted before it got on the self by asking for it. Then you can keep the game for 11 extra days after you cancel since there is no late fees before they convert it to a sale.

I was thinking of joining one of these services.

I asked a friend what he thought and from personal experince he said that it's only really effective if the console has a big back catalogue of games that you want to play, if you just want new releases you could be on the waiting list for a long time.

Considering the PS3 didn't have a back catalogue of games, and the Eu b/c was awful I decided to stay away and not risk being on a waiting list for upcoming releases.

That seems to be the exact same situation as you're in now, unlucky I guess, but if I ever get a 360, I'll probably sign up.

It's easier to just drive out to Blockbuster and rent a game, IMO.:?
