the most underated game ever. i want to now how do i jump to the other dragons to kill them because it did not come with a booklet. i love this game it is the most gorgeous game ever. the levels are huge and so detailed. the draw distants is so good i can see for miles and miles. now i now that these sites did not play more than one level because the tilt just makes so fun and caotic. the only thing i have a hard time doing is the 360 turn other that the controls is so good. im sorry but sony did deliver in graphics this gen so far. the sea serpant is so detailed and so real my 6 year old daughter screamed every time it got near me lol. i happy because my son wants this game which means i can buy another game why he gets it for xmas. i hope some one else can try this game without lisning to gamespot or ign. it will also sell systems if they actualy show this game off in stores to the masses because it is so good looking. it will wow buyers in the store.

from what I hear with this game is after you unlock the tutorial level, keep playing that level until you feel you can do all the moves consistently. Then move onto level 2 and you should do well with the controls. Sounds like the developer did a poor job explaining how the controls work in the manual, they should have had some sort of video tutorial on the game disc seeing that its a brand new type of control scheme. Hell it took me about 15-20 minutes to figure out how to play Flow but once I did, I loved that game... Lair probably takes an hour or two before you get comfy with the controls, reviewers probably had a deadline for their review so they didnt want to be bothered with practicing the new controls. Read Game Informer's reviews, it seems a bit more level headed than the gamespot and ign reviews... got a 7 and 8 out of 10.... not the best game ever, has gameplay flaws, but its not unplayable and has some immersive graphics/story/audio/presentation.

I agree that it is better than what the critics game it, but I still though that it was lacking. I would give it a high six, or a low seven.

I'm just a few minutes into the game. I'm still trying to get the controls down before I go any further in the game. I'm having trouble doing the 360 loop. Controls are slightly difficult, but I guess I just need more time.

I thought this game was great since I first saw it. But then the reviews came out and then I kind of changed my mind on getting it. But hearing from people who actually play games for fun and not for a living enjoy the game and like it. Iam going back to getting it soon. Should I buy or rent? That is the question.

there is your problem you should stop going by wgat the reiviews cause all theydois lookfor the bad in a game. i though it was a great game and the controls were not to get used to. to do the jump move you have to lock on to a dragon and press O and yuou shopuld dash at it then press triangle. and that dont work then you mightneed to lock on till the lock turns red thendothe same thing

i never trust reviewers.. they use 1 - 2 hours on a game. and after 2 hours they think they know ALL about a game. that's why they suck. i just make up my own goddamn mind. simple as that. and yes. Lair is a really good game if you're not jumping around like a retarded monkey screaming "this Sixaxis thing doesn't work! i KNOW it should be like the Wii-mote" .. wich.. everyone who fails at useing the Sixaxis are doing

The sixaxis works fine once you get a feel for it. It didn't take me long to adjust to the controls at all, maybe because I have used it for games like motorstorm and warhawk. You just have to be smooth and to make tight turns in lair use the brake, it is a dragon not a jet so don't expect warhawk like manuevability. For the 180 degree turns, I suggest a long upward lifting motion that you hold for a good second instead of fast twitching snap.

I took the jump two days ago and purchased the game and just like you I was very impressed with the game.

I think the reviewers are expecting too much anymore. It seems as though they not only believe and create the hype-train that follows certain games but they do their best to destroy it as well...

They get so caught up on small issues like the seemingly "complex controls" and ignore the fact that they are not that difficult to get used to.

Its a great game and I think most gamers that are on the fence about this game should take the leap and atleast rent it.

To jump to another dragon to do the special killing move, you need to fill the rage meter, then aim and press triangle when prompted.

Some tips regarding the controls:

1- Dont force the move, do it gently, if you force it, the recoil will create a different move, especially in the 360 turn.

2- Do the tutorial flight lessons, they will give you a better understanding of it.

3- The controls are extremely responsive to your moves, once you learn them, they will be like a part of yourself.

4- Again, there is no need to do an exagerated move with your arms to move the dragon. Its all in the hands, the arms are not necessary, maybe for some of the little games.

yeah i loved it to i don't see why people hated the controles so much.

Yeah i don't remember i think you lock on to them then press triangle or something like that, a little icon should pop up and tell you when you can perform a take down

I have another tip, you can download a free patch for lair, which changes the controls for use with the stick. For if your having trouble with the sixaxis or just think it would be easier.

I have LAIR and it is a great game in many ways, and the patch for the controls makes this game so much more enjoyable when you use the analog sticks instead of just the sixaxis.

to do the 180 turn point the top of the controller down then rise up. Don't just hold the controller straight then lift up, that does not work.

All the the reviews of the game were pre-patch. After the patch came out they said the game was actually enjoyable.

it had awful revies cause in the beginning it used the sixaxis to control movement and it was hottible.. but that has changed now..
