I stayed there and demanded a refund I had to get the store manager to the Service Desk and raise all kinds of hell after about 20 minutes they gave in and I got my $64 back. That game is aweful. Absolutely Horrible. I am done buying 2K Games. I use to Love those sports games made by 2K. But they have gotten ridiculous with the controls and everything they have done to ruin what was once a great baseball game. I'm not going to run out and buy The Show either. I won't be buying any baseball games this year. I'm going to wait for Grand Theft Auto 4 to come out and I'll be playing that this year. Untill then I will continue to play Medal Of Honor Airborne.
Congrats on getting your money back from Wal-Mart. That's good stuff. What didn't you like about the game. The Show is freaking awesome but I can't recommend it to you if it has some of the stuff you didn't like about 2K. The Show is great, though.

im not much of a sports guy but word on the street is that MLB 08:the show is supposed to be an awsome game. if you like baseball games thats the game to get
I don't like how 2K Sports changed the hitting and the pitching. It's worse the Framerate is also very bad in the game. I'm done with buying anything 2K sports. The Last good 2K Baseball game was 2K4 and the Last good 2K football game was 2K5. I'm through with 2K sports. They have ruined sports games for me. I'm only waiting for Grand Theft Auto 4 now. It's the only game I want to play now. I've tried registering over at the 2K Forums site but I can't get registered over there to post for some reason. My Advice to anyone is don't buy MLB 2K8. It's an aweful game.
Yeah, 2K stuff is garbage. The best game that studio has done is BioShock. But The Show is great. It's a PS3 exclusive and it plays great. The graphics are great and the career mode is very, very deep. I'm a AA closer right now.
Hitting, pitching and defense is smooth too. I saw rent it man if you want a baseball game. This one is great.
You already made the mistake by buying 2k over the show. It's cool you got your money back but technically they didn't have to once it's opened then they don't have to refund anything unless it's defective.
i can return anything to walmart, i just lie. i'll say something that they have no way of checking while i'm there. i've returned plenty of games that had nothing wrong with them. (technically)
Since all the issues with EA SPORTS came up this past year, I RENT before I buy. Thats one reason games are so expensive now, people who buy them, dont like them and get their money back. RENT before you BUY.
Or I at least try a representative demo. I bought MLB The Show since the demo was very good. Aside from the maddening bug they have with the online part, its been good.

Well yeah that would be different, but working in retail (at a game store actually) we get this all the time and it pisses us off. Customers think they can get away with whatever they want and when stores give in, that's the reason they think that. Luckily we don't let customers walk all over us.

I would have to say that MLB 08 is the closet thing to MVP 2005 that is out on the market. The only 2K8 game worth buying is NBA2K8, for football EA-Madden, Baseball-The Show. Cannot go wrong. Baseball even has rumble support. I have one and can confirm it, I dont know if 2K8 baseball does. I hope this helps. Peace.
