I got a PS4 on Monday, and started playing InFAMOUS: Second Son right away.

Well~, as it turns out I'm a terrible player. Better now, I think, but I took like three hours (not in succession) to complete the "Welcome to Seattle" mission on Normal mode. I can't handle the perspective shit- always gotta keep moving the right stick to look around, which sucks. I mean, I get that it's a great game, but I'm on Catching Smoke right now and have found only one Core Relay. Also, I keep running from those DUP bastards. Also, everywhere's DUP controlled except Queen Anne which I made 69% DUP controlled. I like the open world- like the drug busts and the vent-dashing and the fact that I can get up on the roof and pick 'em off like a sniper if I want to, but it's the always running and never feeling really safe and knowing that they're all around that kills me. I used to have nightmares like this a few years ago and I keep getting these weird shuddery flashback things when I'm playing it, so yeah. Pretty bad.

I tried playing God of War III, and I did okay (for a noob) at first, but there's this glitch where I can't lift the tree on Gaia's hand at the very beginning and I can't update it or fix it in any way cos my PS4 doesn't have an internet connection.

Should I buy a new game, train and become better with InFAMOUS (cos if I get better at it, I think I might be better at like Uncharted and shit when I play it), or wait till Christmas to get an Internet connection?

(Oh, also, is there any perspective shit in Uncharted and GTA V?)

@nisenrendan: you may just have to get used to how the game is, before you get good

@The_Last_Ride: True~, but it's like if I keep trying to get used to the game and getting better at the same time I won't be able to enjoy it. And it is a great game, like I said.

Were you bad when you were just starting out?

I played the first two games so I felt right at home with Second Son. Generally you should try to stay on the move and stay near power sources so you can heal yourself if needed. I think it's quite an easy game once you get the hang of it, but I can't blame a new player for not being good at anything they're completely new to. And you'll get more powerful as the game progresses anyway, so your powers will be more effective and you'll gain new, better powers to add to your arsenal.

Sounds like a typical third person control scheme. You walk with left stick and direction yourself with right stick. Every game is like that. Gta is really fun though. Might be too complicated if youre having trouble with infamous. Maybe try a first person shooter? But again its the same control scheme. Move with left stick and aim with right stick. You just have to get used to it. Are you one of those late to the party 40 yr old gamers?
