you are playing it too late....if u bought it around release u would of enjoyed it because there were not so many great games out already, but now it just seems average
are you using the VATS aiming system? if not, try it out
are you following the main story line? if not, follow it untill you reach a certain radio station.
have you gotten a companion yet?
and not everyone likes every good game. game's still good, you just don't like it.
like zelda, mario and final fantasy for me, i'm sure there good games, but I just don't like them.
I hated Oblivion while its my cousin's favorite game of all time. Just goes to show you that we all have different tastes. It's pretty much confirmed that I won't like Fallout either. To big and no direction imo.
Agreed, I liked it for a bit, but then it became stale and I put it down. I tried to like it, but I shouldnt have to try to like a game lol
i agree, fallout 3 sucked along with every other bethesda games i have played. games that are TOO open world just bore me to sleep and have no interesting plots to keep me going.

Thank you, its sad that people think a game being linear is a bad thing and a game being open is a good thing.
dont worry, i cant bare to play oblivion and sold it, feeled like playing a halfdone game, boring and flat
I too was rather bored, which is why I didn't even bother finishing it, which is a rarity for me (only other game I had no interest in finishing was GTA IV). I thought it would be able to suck me in like Oblivion did since it basically is set up like Oblivion with guns. However, I was just bored. The setting, atmosphere (with the exception of the museum towards the beginning), characters, and even the story were just really bland and lifeless; and not in the end of the world, nuclear fallout type lifeless.
I try to go back to the game, but can never play for more than an hour at most without getting bored. Oh well, just like anything else, it's not for everyone.
If you like challenging trophies that are also a lot of fun to get, then fallout 3 becomes a much better game, I don't feel games are given enough praise for the trophy/achievement choices, fallout 3 does a really good job of it.
It's not for everyone, personally it's one of my favourites but not everyone is going to like the same game.MushroomWigSame here. Fallout 3 is one of my all time favorite games. I love the huge open world and the ability to do and go where I want. Can def see it not being for everyone though, can even be overwhelming at first. Just play the games you like and leave the rest alone.
It is kind of boring. I bought the game of the year version and got to almost the very ending and stopped playing. Just one of those games you play a little here and a little there. But certainly not something you just crush and enjoy. And I am being kind by not mentioning the glitch factor. Bethesda seems to love half assing their products.
It took a while before I started to enjoy it. Like 30 hours  You've got to use VATS of course. And you pick up lots of better weapons as you go through the game. It does start you out really poorly though - with a pathetically underpowered weapon and no idea where to go. After a while you get into it and start enjoying the atmosphere.

It's all up to opinion, but I'd rather have a game be completely open than too linear.

This. It's sad that people can't accept that other people like different things.I found it boring too, It's one of those games where I realized I'm not into a specific theme, like Fallout 3 is the post-apocalyptic theme or setting. I probably played it for a good 6-10 hours before I realized its boring to me. :( I wanted to like it too.
Bethesda is making it up to us though with Skyrim :)
bored after a ew hours of play, VATS doesn't bring anything as the mobs aren't dead after a few shots and you have to finish them in FPS way, so if it wasn't there at all it'd be the same
i found the concept good but i just felt with all the bugs, which i incounted so many times, and i just couldn't find myself interested in any of the game, i just couldn't get into it, the problem is i went in knowing about the bugs and the graphics and the slow loads and all the rest i just felt cheated out of the game by the developers putting out a half hearted game, half the bugs are there each play through.
Fallout 3 is one of the best games ever made. It starts kind of slow, but don't give up, it's worth it.
next to oblivion its my favorite game ever, people need to stick with them cause i hated oblivion when i first played it and wasnt too crazy bout fallout at first and thought they were overwhelming and boring also until i finally stuck with it and got the hang of it they become addicting and awesome when you realize how much is offered in these games, cant wait for skrim
The post-apocalyptic style/feel was a neat idea, but it was filled with glitches and bugs that made my experience unplayable. I felt it was too barren outside of towns and tunnels.
I had 2 copies of Fallout 3, my first one which I got for PC around release in 2008. Then a second copy I bought for PS3 in 2010, platinumed in a month then sold it. I personally thought Fallout 3 was great. However, the game is worlds better on a PC, the console version is just meh.
But for sure, this game is not for everyone I've known lots of people who simply HATE it for various reasons. I for one loved it though. New Vegas rocks too.
