I think I found Dark Soul's weakness, there's a spot to generate infinite souls!

About 2 or 3 hours into the game, soon after you defeated the Tarura Demon (spell?) You'll come across a bridge where a dragon will spit fire on the bridge and it's fire will also kill all the enemies which will net you 300 souls.

You can actually actitivate the bonfire and repeat, climb back up and let the dragon kill all the enemies for you. Just take your sweet time and you'll able to get as much souls as you want.

I am a big **** so I spent a good 2 hours doing that and I got so much souls I bought almost everything I can use from the zombie merchant LOL

I wasn't sure if I should level up because I heard the game becomes much harder every time you level up.

I think you are having a hard time because of your high level. The enemies in this game levels up with you. From what I am experiencing, I'd say they level up more often than you.

yeah, you can do that although not everybody has the patience or will to do that for 300 souls. GS has a tips video up with one that nets you 7000 but i havent tried it yet. i think that will be a last resort type of thing that i hopefully wont resort to.

the enemies dont scale (to the player at least), but youll likely find that the same enemy is harder in later areas. you could level right past them if you wanted. it would just take a really long time without progressing to later areas for better soul drops.

Yeah, there is no leveling scaling in Dark Souls as far as I know. Enemies in undead burg are ridiculously weak and get one practically one shotted by my level 29 character and 300 souls isn't so much when stats start costing 6000 souls a piece. Just wait until you get to the place where you can farm 7000 souls every 2 minutes.

Well it's more like exploiting the really poor AI in the game to farm souls.. The area is in the forest behind that door you can't open without a key that costs 20000 souls from the blacksmith. Check this video out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjHG-cuBakg about 5:50 minutes in.

thanks, i was wondering how to open that door, i keep forgetting you can buy keys in this game. since i can't seem to beat the bell gargoyles for some reason i'll try exploring around that area and getting souls to level up.

do you know if the enemies level up with you or not?

The only reason I would do that would be to buy a ton of curse cure items before going to blighttown/the depths. Lvl farming or item farming isn't me, and I feel like it's not what the devs wanted. But if I get into a bad situation in the depths I might do it just to eliminate the threat, and before I go to Blighttown I will probably farm to buy like 5 or 6 just to make it safe.

That 7000 souls trick is very high risk, unpreditable and it's at a later part of the game.

I rather use a safe spot and get 300 souls every 15-20 seconds. If you upgrade enough HP, you can even save a few seconds by jumping off to the bonfire.

its really in the middle on the right side (coming from the taurus demon). theres a set of stairs that goes down to a room with 2 doorways. one goes under the dragon and one goes to a room above the first bonfire in the undead berg. you can kick down a ladder for easy access.

theres one behind the dragon too? ive never crossed all the way on the top of the bridge. i just figured from my sense of direction (which admittedly isnt very good) that the bridge led right to the boars area anyway.

It does, but running to that area you can net a decent sword on the bridge. Plus it helps me avoid the rats.

Why don't you learn to "read". It's 300 souls every 15 seconds, can be even faster if you upgraded HP to jump off to the bonfire below. 15 mother ****ing seconds, You do that for 2 hours and you do the math.

dude they know what you are on about.

the 300 souls farming trick you are doing produces very little reward Versus time spent, especially once you venture out of the starting areas.(it doesnt matter how quick you can do it!)

btw, the darkroot garden 7000 soul "farming trick" is actually near the beginning of the game too, and is actually very easy to do and has very little risk in it at all.

you just need to save up 20,000 souls to buy the key then its literally 7000 souls every 2 minutes (you do the math).easy peasey!! especially once you get the hang of it.

really its too early for you to be farming. That whole area can be completed by soul level 15 if not less. just get a bow when you reach the bridge, shoot the dragons tail from afar about 25 times and you get a sword that has low requirements and does 200 damage. that can carry you damn far into the game. The gargoyles are easy, if you have trouble just trade in some humanity to become human and summon the sun knight Solaire, he's by the bridge with the dragon.

and yeah what mushroom said, its super low risk...you can literally sprint around, gather all of the guys and than run to the side of the stairs and they will fall off one by one lol. plus the bon fire right next to the area pretty much eliminates all risk vs reward. Farming is not necessary until after blighttown honestly, just be carefull when leveling and you'll be cool

sorry for double post...but farming is not a weakness. this is a dungeon crawler.

most all rpgs have regenerating enemies (at least in certain areas).

wait what? There is no enemy scaling in this game. Whether you level up to 50 using that spot or only stay at 10, enemies in Blight Town are going to be the same difficulty. However, if you spend like 7 hours soul farming to level up stupidly high, you will make the game easier for yourself, but also leave yourself open to higher level invasions, by players with much better gear and skill than you.
