My personal opinion on it. While I'd love the number of PS3 members to grow just as much as the next PS3 owner out there, I'd recommend waiting until there was a game that you really wanted to play. If there's a price drop before then, then pick it up. If not pick it up anyway since you'll have more than enough cash put away by then.The_Rick_14
Well, when is Lair, Killzone 2, Haze, and Uncharted coming out?
Also, ive been longing to play resistence, and I think Mototrstorm could be fun.

I say go get the PS3, Resistance is awesome(and when your done with the Single player, the Multiplayer will keep you playing for a long time), Motorstorm is just great fun, so you can start off with those, and with all the new releases in the next couple of weeks, there should be enough great games there to hold you over 'till Lair, Killzone 2, Haze and Uncharted drop.

Lair - August 7th
Killzone 2 - February 08
Haze - November 07
Uncharted - November 07
Those are all according to IGN who has been the most up to date of anyone in my opinion.
As far as Resistance and Motorstorm go. Both are extremely fun games (especially Resistance with a buddy).
The new time attack mode for Motorstorm gives it far more replay value as well.
I don't think you'd be disappointed if you picked up a ps3 tomorrow with Resistance and Motorstorm. Could potentially get you to August when Lair would come out.
One good reason to get a PS3 now is to get a PS3 with the Emotion Engine built-in. I have a good amount of old Playstation One and PS2 games. Me personally? I prefer to run off of hardware than software emulation. You can bet that after they drop the price, ALL PS3's are going to use software emulation.
Another perfectly good reason to buy it now is that you're getting so much more than just a gaming console. Seriously, this thing is a computer. Linux isn't too hard to install. If you have an HDTV, then Blu-Ray will really bring it to life. Sony constantly updates the firmware to add features. Wi-fi works like a charm. It even upconverts the resolution of DVD's and PS2 and PS1 games...
I retired my PS2. I just use my PS3 now. I couldn't resist. I'm glad I didn't.
