I think MGS2 just screwed me!

So yea I was playing MGS2 pre-owned (I couldn't find any new ones) on my 60GB PS3

Well actually I wasn't "Playing" it, It said press start so I pressed it then it took me onto the main menu, I pressed new game and it just said again press start, I tried everything but it just wouldnt work, do you think this is a copy game, cause I'll be pissed if it is

lol I remember when I got MGS2 for the first time. I was like, "WTF! I GOT A BROKEN DISK" Then I realised that it's one of those games where O is select and X is cancel.

The logic behind this japanese menu style is that circle indicates "correct" therefor translating to select and X indicates incorrect which translates to cancel.

The first MGS game I played was Snake Eater so when I couldnt get into the game I got pissed and took it back and demanded my money back and the guy at Gamestop was like "Did you press the O button..." And Im like ".... Thanks for your help" and I walked out, went home, and started playing :lol:

Because in japan circle means good an X means bad/cancel almost all games in japan you use circle to confirm andd X to cancel.

This is also why analyst believe that, thats the reason why the other console isnt doing so good there.

So far, I've only seen that in Kojima produced games. MGS and ZOE.

I am surprised so many people couldn't figure such a simple thing out @.@ like isn't the number one rule with every game out there "try every button until something happens before you start freaking out" and if you still can't figure it out then read the isntruction manual and still have trouble after that. I would laugh but the dsame thing happened with me a few months ago with MGS1. I kept on pressing X and start scared that the game was broken.

After ages I suddenly remembered that this game was japanese and for some reason they press O instead of X to start.

It still got on my nerves though when selecting things I would press X, then remember and press O.

So yeah, I would laugh, but i made the same noobish mistake too...

Doesn't anyone feel it's more comtable to press O? X is too close and you had to bend your thumb.

It makes sense. X is wrong/bad.
