I was playing uncharted when quited the game and pressed the the buttom to retrieve the disk, so i put my hand in the disk and i got shock (that hurt a lot) and i tried to turn off the ps3, but......... i didn't work, and i tried to press again and again, but nothing, even the blue buttom to retrieve the disk didn't make that noise anymore, just with several presses, and after some tries i could turn off my ps3!
1 hour later i tried to turn on the ps3 again, and i used the green buttom, no problems, but and i was checking the blue with some tries i discovered that it was with the same problem.

I'm not sure what's going on. Just try unhooking all your wires, waiting a bit, and rehooking everything back up.

You may have broken your PS3.
You do not have to put your hand inside the ps3 to get the disc, it will eject it when you push the button infront of the PS3 logo.
BTW what are the green and blue buttons? Those aren't buttons but leds to signify tha the PS3 is on or resetting or in standby.
the actual buttong looks like I/O

 You know because PS3s are like gods and are immortal.
They will be "Star Wars voice" They willl be. . Once texas and Maryland are taken care of, the plant in texas. And "Input Lag" the movie is made, to F up Microsofts future:twisted:. Or really just tell the truth aout the past 2 years lol.
Why is it so hard for everyone posting to understand you have to put your hand on the disc to take it out of the drive. I personally put 1 finger through the hole in the center (can you guess which one?). You could have ESD (electrostatic discharge) damage from static electricity. It happens sometimes with computer chips, etc. Also, why does living in Brazil keep you from calling sony...they don't support people from Brazil?

Umm why don't people understand?
Well it's probably because no one's finger can fit into the PS3's slot!!!!!!!
I tried it and i'm skinny, I asked my 3 yr old to do it you can't reach into it to take the disc out. Only way is if it was sticking out already, and all you would have to do is pull it out. You probably messed up the sensor when he did whatever he did, as I've said before. Maybe a needle-nose was used?
Key tip for slot loading players, Let it do what it has to do, don't pull push or force anything in any way into or out a slot loading player.
I dont get anything you said. All i understood is you put your hand in the ps3 and pulled the disk out which is impossible unless you opened up your ps3avataraang1
Me too, I do not understand what they guy is saying too... If you are finish playing. Press the eject button. Wait for the disc to come out. It will come out half-way. Then go grab the disc with hand. Can't get easier than that.
Well? unless you get someone else to do it for you.

The guy said (clearly enough) thathe put his hand in the DISK (read Disc), not the Disc drive. He even talks about hitting the eject button first.....

and then you read it. he wrote that he PUT his hand IN the disc. how do you shove a hand into a disc? it's so thin. o.O

First guy: "I was playing uncharted when quited the game and pressed the the buttom to retrieve the disk, so i put my hand in the disk and i got shock (that hurt a lot) and i tried to turn off the ps3"
Other guy: " everyone posting to understand you have to put your hand on the disc to take it out of the drive"
I apologize, however it's easy to mix that up. Putting your HAND inside doesn't seem like he was taking the disc out by using his FINGER to pull it out. Also I take my bd out regularly (pull it out), they can take it and are made for wear and tear (and fingerprints) and worse conditions. Case closed. To the poster I hope your PS3 works out fine, let it stay for a while. Turn it off in the back and when you turn it back on hold the on button for mor ethan 6 secs to reset the video settings, just incase.
Also know that the PS3 doesn't turn off as soon as you push the I/O button, it takes a couple of seconds. If you keep pushing it it will beep.
Yeah... you guys are way to literal with words. Oviousley its impossible to put your hand into a disc. Why would you even question it. Just makes you look like an idiot for not being able to use your brain and understand what he was trying to say. Anyway back to the topic. A PS3 is very much like a computer. even the smallest static shock can fry a processor, hard drive, or mother board. So if indeed you did get a large static shock out of your system then chances are that something is fried. sorry but it sounds like your SOL!!

not meaning to nitpick but people make mistakes on the net.
In my case when he said put his hand into the disc, I immediately corrected it as put his hand in the drive. (like i do with my computer) cause no one puts their hand in a disc. Plus saying that putting your hand in a drive would FIT in the cause of how the PS3 may have been broken. In a nutshell it was just a mistake in interpretation, no one is an idiot in this case. The guy's question has already been answered already, static discharge, end of topic.
Ever heard of this "Hindsight is 20/20".

Haha, thats kind of mean.
Ok ... let me try to coherently explain what happened, and then we can focus and finding a solution
I was playing uncharted. I quit the game and pressed the the buttom to eject the disk, and then I reached to grab the ejected game disk from my PS3. When I made contact with the disk, I was shocked and it was very painful .Then, when I attempted to shut off my PS3 using the touchpad, it didn't work. I tried repeatedly using the power button on the touchpad with no response. I tested the eject button on the touchpad, and that didn't work either (I could tell because it didn't make the noise it usually does when it's working properly). I was eventually able to shut off my PS3 after several more attempts with the power button. After letting my system rest for one hour, I tried to turn it on again, and I used the power button on the touchpad without any problem. However, the eject button on the touchpad still had no response. After some attempts with the eject button, I discovered that it was having with the same problem as before.

So, after editing your original post, I've come to the conclusion that your system works except for the eject button on the touchpad. Have you tried using your PS3 controller to eject a disc? To do this, do to the disc icon on the XMB, press triangle, go to "Eject Disc" and press X. If your PS3 still does not eject the disc, thencalling Sony is your only option left (unless you happened to purchase a warranty, in which case, you probably wouldn't have even posted this).
I'm sure they still help you even though you live in Brazil and imported a "Canadian" PS3. Just be sure to calmly and coherently explain the situation as clearly as you can. Read the story off of this post if you need to!
The most important thing to rememberwhen dealing with any customer service in general to make sure you get your point across and to make sure that you are fully understood. Speak slowly and with a loud, clear voice, and tell them exactly what happened. I'm sure Sony (and any money-makingcompany for that matter), will not decline service to any paying customer, regardless of whether or not your product was imported from another country ... of course, you never know, I could be wrong (but hopefully, I'm not).
If I misunderstood your story in any way, please post and correct me if anything I've said is wrong.
