what would be the point its meant to be a mobile gaming device, not sure anyone would buy an external one that i assume you want to hook up to the ps3 somehow when can get bluray, i dont know does not sound like a good idea though to me atleast
i think sony should make a external umd drive so you can play psp games and watch umd movies that way they will make more money on umd sales and pspIQT786
they have something better than an external (im assuming ps3) drive.... its called blu ray
Yeah, Sony should have included the UMD into the PS3. If the two systems can connect to each other, let all the features connect. I would be moreconvinced to buy a PS3 if it took in UMDs.

lol ur dreaming if that happend the psp is screwed but it would be awsome if we can connect the psp to the ps3 to play its games upscaled now that would be awsome :D i would buy a psp for this
I would prefer it for the PSP to Remote Play to the PS3 and the PS3 can access the PSP. So you can play UMD games, watcch UMD movies, and listen to music on your TV from your PSP. Then you wouldn't have to buy anything (except a PSP) and all you have to do is firmware update.
