I want a PS3....But....

I have X-BOX360 and Wii and i want a PS3.But the new one ps3 80GB it is not support ps2 games and i am very sad with that because i have many ps2 games (123 games for ps2).I don't understand why sony have done that.X-BOX360 support XBOX games,Wii support GC games,but the new PS3 it is not support ps2 games only PSone,and the PS360GB it is not exist any more :cry:.Why sony have done that..?? I am deeply disappointed by that and maybe i will not buy a PS3.The PS3 it have some good games but not very much games for my,only 14 games are the games that i want on ps3 and god of war 3 is awesome.But i don't want to pay 350euro just for 14 PS3 games.:(

no buts, just buy one. I dont think they will bring backwards compatibility back, seeing as how they are really close to making a profit on every system,I do believe they will start offering some sort of download service for ps2 games though, seriously just buy one, you wont be disapointed

Trust me i have about 60 ps2 games and i was sad that i couldnt play them on my ps3.
got myself a 80gb ps3, and got 9 games with it.......its a blast.Just keep ur ps2 with u and use it for the ps2 games.
There is plenty of stuff for the ps3 and the number of games are only gonna increase with time.God of war 3 is gonna be a blast!
the games i have so far are,
MGS 4:guns of patriots, street fighter 4,devil may cry 4,dbz:burst limit,resistance 2,bioshock,killzone 2,elder scrolls 4,the orange box.

imma get tekken 6,god of war 3 and infamous soon......and there are many more amazing games that i dont have yet.trust me the ps3 has amazing potential and a huge life span.......go for it

Just saying, I was a huge 360 fan and well bought a PS3 and the only thing I'm going to say here is "You can't believe everything you read in forums!" Do all those xbox games play in your 360? Asking because the 1 game I would want to play from the xbox days is not supported. NHL Rivals 5 on 5 online hockey which hopefully happens this year EA, 2k, don't care which one as long as 5 on 5 works.

What do you mean by only 14 games? Honestly how is 14 a small number? I could understand if you are only interested in playing like 2 or 3 games on the system and not wanting to pay that much but 14? I would say if you are interested in 5 or more games on a system then there is enough warrant for you to purchase. I have had the PS3 almost since launch and I have had just over 14 games. You have high standards or you play too much. This coming from someone who plays quite a bit.

I am buy used games (15-20euros each),and for me 14 games for the PS3 its sounds so very small because it is a small number.The XBOX360 it have a lot more games and many good RPG games.

It was so Sony saved money, Sony was losing a lot on each system so they took it out so they didn't lose as much, as for the topic, you should just keep your PS2, buy a PS3 and sell your PS2 if the PS3 ever gets a BC update.

There are options available.

You can still purchase original 60GB and 80GB consoles that supports PS3 games online and even some independent electronic gaming retailers sell them used. If you look around you will surely find them.

You can keep your PS2 if you're still playing your PS2 games and save up for PS3. You could wait for this Christmas as it's very likely you will have more options. Slimmer, Cheaper PS3, Price drop on current models and maybe even some kind of software update that will allow PS2 backwards compatibility, that's just my guess however.

It's odd you're only including 14 games on PS3 since there are quite a larger number then that.

The way I see it - if you're not finding PS3 to warrant your money and investment into it then you probably should just stick with the incredibly large gaming library you already have and sometimes in future buy yourself a PS3.

I don't particularly agree with your points why you're hesitating to purchase one since I spend 699$ on launch 60GB PS3 and 3 years later I have nothing but found memories and great gaming experience.

PlayStation 3 is worth every penny for myself. At 399$ today and quite possibly with PS3 Slim and Price drop in very near future, not to mention the phenomenal library of quality exclusives and great multiplatform games - it's a console worth having. ;)

Unlike the others you mentioned the PS2 is still being manufactured and sold, games are still being developed for it. It has been a rough time money wise for alot of people and Sony still supporting the PS2 is a good thing IMO. Removing BC also allowed Sony to cut production costs and because of people like you who say you want a PS3 but don't want to pay is the #1 reason why the PS3 no longer supports PS2 games, you wante a price drop you got one, still want another price drop, sorry but you arent getting one.

There aren't even 100 or so games on any console that are must haves. If you need 10 billion games per console in order to see a warrant in getting it than you need not only a life but also to have realistic espectations.
