I would like to purchase MGS 4, however i have not played any of the prior games and i can't purchase the collection because I own the 40 gig PS3 and it does not have backwards compatibility. So should I go ahead and buy it or is there anywhere where i can catch up on the story?

Thanks in advance.

Id suggest, doing some research. (Look at some Youtube vids, go to wikipedia). That should get you caught up on the story.

Definitely get caught up on the story. It is such a major factor of the game of the game. I suggest D/L the MGS4 database and read up on that then, buy MGS4.

I did the same thing. It's about 6 videos that are 10 minutes each (I think). You have at least some ideal what's going on after those.

Get it, you'll still love it, I did. I'm two acts in, but I've stopped so I can read up about the rest of the series and borrow MGS2 and 3 from my friend. But a good idea would be to download the MGS4 Database off of the playstation store.

the database is incredibly overwhelming for somebody who is new.

try going to wikipedia and reading the plot descriptions and avoid mgs4 on wiki- its a fat spoiler
