i was playing COD4 today and i dont know what kids mother baught him the game but the kid had the absolute most annoying things to say. i dont mind if younger kids play, i dont even if they use a mic (i was young once :)) but i do notice that many of these kids cannot filter what is an intelligent thought and what is not. i just dont need to hear a high pitched voice tell me the most obvious things like "we gotta get the bomb guys" or "were loosing" ahaha. idk this is a random thread but yea i dont think im the only one bothred by this

There is a $399 mininum entrance fee and game fee... But good suggestion though it won't fly. :)

I know there's no way you can ever regulate people who use mics, but I too would love a way to stop some people getting them. I wouldn't get rid of all people under 16 or anything either, I know most people evne if they are kids aren't out to annoy other gamers. I was playing SOCOM when I was 14 and I never felt the urge to act like a dickhead on the mic for a brief stint of cheap enjoyment. But you still get a lot of people being generally annoying.

I had a guy on CoD4 yesterday making meowing cat noises constantly. And in CoD4 you can't mute....*sigh*

Then you get the people who don't realise we can al hear your TV/music in the background, and we don't really want to listen to it whilst shooting terrorists.

Yeah... I think we all have this problem. Especially with Guitar Hero III. People try to mess with you to screw you up, and sometimes I can't make out what they're saying to come up with a comeback. Being that GH's fanbase is mostly drunken frat boys and angry nerds.

Too soon?

I thought you knew, lol, well I'm getting this game anyways, but it still sucks if you can't mute. I can't play R6V without muting someone.

Oh Ok I thought you were like 'Are you serious you don't know how to mute!!!'

And as far as I'm aware you can't mute other people. It's really annoying. Fortunately there aren't too many people trying to be clever on the mic, but when you do find one, that's when you need a mute option.

True man I've been annoyed by young kids that shouldn't even be playing these violent games in the first place. Though It's not just young kids that get annoying. I hate these people that think it's cool to argue andcurse at eachother on the mic to be heared by the hole world. No Shame!

well i agree with everyone for the most part yeah those high pitched voices do get annoying, like when you are in battle(COD4) they are screaming in the mic and i cant hear what others are saying i wish everyone could be more mature.

i HATE it when there is a young high-pitch girly voice when playing. I usually quit that lobby after one game and try another one just so i don't have to listen to it.

I don't mind high pitched voices as long as they ONLY speak when necessary, and aren't just talking for the sake of using their mic.

I can't stand those immature prepubescent kids either. In rainbow 6 I could individually mute people, so that worked out alright. Too bad the servers weren't run somewhat centrally like battlenet - it would be awesome if once you hear a young kid on the other end, since the game is rated M, that kid's account would automatically be banned cuz he shouldn't be playing the game. Hahaha, that would be awesome

yea mate I always took it seriously, I was also part of a fairly competetive clan, Xtreme Assassins. We were top 20 on gamebattles for SOCOM 2 anyway. Nothing special, but better than most, and we certainly wouldn't have got so high had I been an annoying little s*** on the mic lol. It was a great clan, but I've lost contact with all of them since SOCOM, which is a shame.

this is what the halo community needs, everytime i have played it at a mates house there are annoying little 10 and 12 year old who just talk for the sake of being heard. maybe there should be a minimum age? but it would be impossible to enforce .

what they could do is have a report system where if one player gets too many reports within a short amount of time there mics become ineffective in game for like 2 days or something. this would work because people who offend all the time would eventually stop, because they would be sick of being bared and others would be more careful what they say in fear of being banned. i guess people would learn that using the mic is a privillage not a right.

same but my clan kinda sucked. ahhaa seal force 1 [SF1]..... i look back and i wonder how i was able to convince people to join my clan back then when i was a kid. i think the new socom will allow me to get a more full experiance. i just hope its more like socom 2 and doesnt have gynormous maps like socom 3(i felt like they tried to make the game to much like battlefeild

i think even more then mics the worst thing is how hard it is to join a game. you cannot pick the server u want to join and when serching for a game it may take a few minutes to find one or create a new one. some of that should change though when there are more users online in the future but in the first week its kinda annoying.

I had a really low voice starting at a young age, so while gaming, when people found out how old I was, they were surprised.
