If the rumor about the PSP Slim turns out to be true at E3 next month, then I'm hoping that it'll be released by or before November. I've planned on buying a PSP in a couple of months, and I won't wait until next year to get a PSP.

There is NO PSP Slim even announced yet, and trust me if they don't announce it at E3 this year they're never gonna announce another PSP till PSP2 (which is a guarentee cuz the PSP is doing great, but that's in 2010)
While were all excited to hear about the new model, and while i was guessing an announcement of some sorts would come, i dont regret buying my psp in april.i enjoy it too much.
If we buy this new PSP. Then the old one dissapears. The DS is a really good example. First there was DSChunkyBrick with all it's accesories then the released DSLite and suddenly all accesories for the previous had dissapeared. My friend couldn't find a carry case or replacement sensor pens without getting them used off eBay.

Yeah, that's annoying as hell. Everything is DsLite. I mean everything. Hell they even made the opera browser only for the DS lite. I can't see them releasing a new psp right now atm. They're bleeding money, the psp is selling fine as it is. If they did release a new one, they would lose money per unit sold. Especialy if that article is true. The money which they have lost they'd have to make up in software sales. But do you really see software sales sky rocketing just because of the psp slim coming out? I don't. They'll stay more or less the same, meaning all sony have done is make anouther mistake and lost even more money.

I know how you feel..I cant find anything for the "brick" DS anymore.
Sony is well known for redesigning its game systems with Playstations 1 and 2 becoming smaller, and will eventually do the same with PS3. As for the PSP redesign that could be a good thing. No dead pixals at launch this time Sony, Two analog hubs this time Sony, More focus on great PSP games Sony, The PSP should have wiped the floor with the DS but they got their Ass handed to them by Nintendo. Sony have said that they are not trying to compete with nintendo in the handheld gaming market, the psp is very different to the ds and they are aimed at different audiences, and they both have their own gameplay ****, psp going for gaphics and entertainment, ds going for innovation, both have a great library of games, and they can't properly be compared because they are so different.
