Ideas for the PS4?

Cup Holders. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.

Full 1080p would be nice. I just don't want it to be based on stupid technology like Kinect.

- Full 1080p as the minimum standard.
- High Storage Capacity (1TB +)
- Fast Internet browser
- Support for more formats. i.e. MKV
- Revamped file management system
- More user options, i.e. passwords etc
- Blu-Ray
- Full backwards compatibility (PS1,PS2,PS3)
- NO motion controls
- Signifantly improved specifications.
- Improved PSN Infrastructure and features

A lot of this could be implemented in the PS3 with a firmware update, but these seem to get more pointless every time.

either 2 dvd drives or install games onto the harddrive it self even brought games.Alot of time i watch full tv series using dvd and i leave the dvd in for abit and would like not to take it out each time i want to play a game from disc. Supose this could be done this gen with update to install dvd games onto hard drive.

Just Double the techinical power of the Playstation 4. Sony should just make the PS4 twice as powerful as the PS3. Then concentrate on making the Playstation 4 games the best/creative/impressive/fun/etc. Plus zero backwards compatibility with Playstation 1, Playstation 2, or Playstation 3 games. Sony has learned that people will buy HD collections. Over and over again. So just use that money for better Games development for PS4.

The Games of Playstation 4 are/will be more important the the actual Playstation 4 console itself.

Better on-line security with the PS4 this time Sony. Keep it at $500.00 at launch.

Backwards compatibility with Psx, Ps2 and Ps3. Full HD games and a complete revamp of the Psnetwork/Psstore.

some things i'd love to see(but many probably won't happen, but they're all realistic):

1. tuner card/record live tv(dvr) feature?

2. radio tuner

3. BC with all previous PS games

4. fast swap hard drives

5. better internet speed. i don't know why it takes so long to download updates/games on PS3....it makes no sense

6. free online gaming aka don't copy MS

7. the normal/expected upgrades: video card/CPU/memory/HDD

8. alternative controller (swap left analog & left d-pad) so people will stop complaining about it. i prefer the way it is now tho

9. less shooters :P

10. ALL games available on PS store or come with a code in addition to the physical disc

11. improved XMB

12. less focus on motion and 3D

13. vita as an optional controller on all games, similar to wii u

14. ps2 titles downloadable, like ps1 titles are currently

15. custom music, similar to what 360 has

16. support for more video formats

17. support to allow video from ps4 to be streamed to vita(ie netflix or dvds)

18. PS store easier to navigate

19. awesome lights on the front :P

20. turns into a giant fighting robot, ready to do your will

I want:

-Full backwards compatiblity for PS1, PS2 and PS3.

-More Ram

-Faster downloads

-Cross Gaming Chat

-Every game to be 1080P

-Lots of launch titles

Its not so unlikely, that PS4 comes out earlier and it continiues to co-exist with PS3 for some time, just like PS2 existed with PS3!

I hope next gen comes in 2-3 years, and it's a big jump rather having a slight update in 1-2 years

im sure it will simply be a more powerful ps3 and thats fine. anyway, some wants:

full backwards compatibility with ps3/2/1.

access to a bunch of the GoG or steam library

easier hardware for developers to work with. the better looking games will come out much faster.

faster approval of game patches.

more games on psn. regular releases are good, but id also like some smaller games too. perhaps see what deals they can make at festivals and such. while theyre at it, better advertising space for those small games would entice more developers to bring their titles to the ps4.

Backward Compatibility with PS1, PS2 and PS3 and that's good enough.

Ability to live inside a PS3 lol.Ok. I'm talking out of my backside.

1. Sort your PS3 friends list on what they're playing.

2. Ability to browse internet whilst playing PSN games and disc-based games.

3. Ability to delete trophies.

4. Drag and drop feature to make it easier to save game saves to usb stick.

5. Better XMB interface.

6. Make yourself invisible to an individual user on your friends list.

1080p at 60fps. Thats enough.

Also, faster hdd, maybe a seagate thing with partial ssd. Could be great for startup.

For the rest i don't know. MKV support would be nice though. it's ridiculous a 'HD' device like the ps3 doesn't support MKV.

To put things into perspective, when the PS3 was released, The RAZR was still the "must-buy" phone. Between then and now phones have increased in power (and functionality) so quickly that they rival handheld gaming consoles in power now. Meanwhile the PS3 has stayed the same.

It's time for a PS4.

Please make a better user interface. I beg of you.
