Do you have any idea of the memory on the slim? I think it's 250 gigs. If it is go for the Slim. It also dosen't gather dust lol.

I myself would go for the slim then, the extra memory will come in handy for your game installs!

The used 80gb is cheap so you could get it and a game for the same price as a new slim. But personally, for something like that I would always buy new.

You're logic is questionable. The "Fat" PS3 has interchangable memory and can be upgraded whereas the PS3 Slim cannot without taking it completely apart.

I used logic? Ah ok. I wasn't aware of the interchangable memory on the slim. Good point though, updating to the 350 gig on my Fatty was a good move.

What in the world are you talking about? The only thing that's questionable here is "your" grammar. Changing the HDD in a slim is no more complicated than the older fat model. Next time please keep your misinformation to yourself b/c there are people like the poor sap below you that'll believe it.

One lousy grammatical error and you're giving me a hard time? Geez! As for the "misinformation" I went with what I was told by my peers. Sorry if it's incorrect, but they know better than I because I don't own a PS3 Slim so it's a matter of taking their word for it. So if it's incorrect I apologize, but there's no need in getting nasty about it, buddy.

warranties on the PS3 run about $50 or more. You could go with the 80. The installs aren't as bad as everyone says. Sure, if you want to keep all the data for all your games on the system at one time, then it might become a problem. installation data and saved game are different. You can delete installed data without losing your save. At most your probably going to play what, 2 to 3 games at a time or so? If you find yourself not playing a game anymore, then just delete the installed data to save memory. Unless you know exactly to put a new hard drive in the PS3, I would just go with the new slim.

Very few of the fat PS3's are backward compatible. Like almost none, and if you find a backwards compatible one be prepared to spend $500+.
