If Gta got 10 why did far cry only get a 8.5

HAHAHAHA how did I know you were going to reply? In all honesty GTA 4 is a better game then Far Cry 2. Be honest man you know it. You must work for the UBI SOFT or something. No way you could like this game that much. I am not saying that GTA is the best game either, I just fell that it does the whole sandbox game better then Far Cry2.

Here it is broken down once and for all Far Cry 2

Graphics 7.5- Sometimes it looks great but more often average and enemies textures look like crap and animate like crap. Gameplay 6.0- Weapons have crappy physics. Missions are way repetitive. Case in point, accept a mission walk 10 minutes or drive kill some guys walk 10 minutes and drive back. Accept another mission almost like the previous one. Walk some more, come across an outpost, kill everyone and keep going. Later one come back to the same outpost but guess what. Those guys are back again, not dead! Vehicles drive like poop!

Sound 9.5- The bright Spot

I think the game is really long but it uses tricks to make the game long. It take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete a mission and get back for the next. The game is huge and while the is potential it feels empty at times. I will say that the PC version is much better making the console versions a dumbied down port. If you must play this game play it on PC forget the console version. Don't believe the hype. No one will be playing this game in 3 months

I did'nt think that GTA4 was that good, i agree both games should of got 8.5.

And how can you put Farcry on a GTA level? Has the franchise ever proven itself worthy of that?

I thought GTA IV getting a 10 was crap. I think it is the better game. And you better get your terms right because Far Cry2 is an open world shooter, not a sandbox game, sandbox shooter, etc.

Man, were you put on this Earth to complain everytime someone says the really enjoyed Far Cry 2?

I've seen you in EVERY SINGLE thread that is discussing Far Cry 2.

I liked Far Cry 2 alot, for me nothing beats the feeling of planning out your mission, waiting till nightfall, turning your headlights off on your jeep when you get close, hiding your jeep in the jungle, scoping out the area with the monoscope, picking a high point, fire and move with the dart gun and excuting the whole thing in very beautiful sceney. However the game fails with any kind of a story and is very repetative. But thats where taking each mission realistically pays off.

I also liked GTA4, I played it through when it came out, a few months later the hype changed to people saying it was now aweful, then played it through just recently and remembered how fun it can be, the city looks amazing too.

I think GTA4 tops far cry because of the lack of depth in FC and the sheer hype GTA4 got when it came out.

I will give you that GTA did not deserve a 10. I will give Far Cry a 7.5-8.0 and GTA an 8.5.

Agreed. FarCry2 is one the most underrated games to come out recently. I am not saying the 8.5 is bad. I am talkin about all the people on these boards bashing it. It's a great game and superior to GTAIV. I'm not a GTAIV hater either as the GTA series is my favorite next to Metal Gear Solid. I guess it just ask too much of the player, so people don't like it.

I'm new to this topic, so please forgive me if I'm missing some points. Here's the scoop. FarCry 2 isn't that great. GTA IV isn't either. This is my opinion. If it were up to me both games would be in the 6.5 to 7.5 range. Both of them are droll and I find that I need to execute great effort to continiue. GTA IV lost my attention so badly that I sold it only 2 weeks after I bought it. In this regard I believe that FarCry 2 wins. I have no intention of selling FarCry 2 and believe that there is something about it that catches my attention more than GTA IV did. I can't put my finger on it, but I have to go with my gut. It doesn't really matter since I think both are not very good in my opinion.

the game has nothing original except its big, you cant interact with anything, in a realistic game( self claims... ) you cant even shoot a truck tire, weapon jamming is so frequent that its like there to annoy players, AI is stupid ( running to you then stop and wait for you to kill them ), no matter how many times you kill guards they will respawn at your next visit,if you use enemy weapon ( means if you didnt buy it from armsdealer ) your weapon breaks when your ammo is out, whenever you jump in a vehicle ALWAYS without exception an enemy vehicle will appear in one minute, etc. etc. ...

FarCry2 is fun game but its just fun, its good but nothing great about it...

Not trying to be nitpicky, but I believe the fire physics and how it spreads in this game are original, at least for console games. A lot of people complain about guards respawning, but is it too hard to believe that while your away from a checkpoint that they re-man it? I personally haven't had a bad experience concerning respawning guards yet.

okay, i agree, fire is fun in this game. i dont believe FarCry2 is bad, i'm having fun with it, but to be honest "no interaction" in a fps game is really bad... you cant even open lockers!!
