if i break my PS3 will they take out the BC if i bring it in to fix it?

I heard that when you call them, they will ask you which model you want to have( a Slim model or a BC) If you choose a BC..they will ask you to pay extra bucks...(Around 100$ more)

It depends if they can fix it and if they can't they'll send you a 120GB slim.
