If I didn't like Oblivion, should I ignore Fallout 3?

I remember playin my buddies Oblivion for an hr, and watching him play... it looked boring as hell. Should I avoid Fallout3? It looks a lot more style, but ive heard the "oblivion with guns" reference so im hesitant.

I dont care about the apparent bugs, most ppl whove played game say theyre minimal

I dont no how people can say Oblivion was boring or rubbish because i think it's the best game i've ever played with the exception of World of Warcraft.

I think you should get Fallout 3 because it has quite a few differences with Oblivion.

Oblivion was love it or hate it.

I thought it was boring as well; too much freedom = me wandering around doing nothing.

Don't know about Fallout though.

Nah, go get it. I don't have the game myself, but reviews have been good, and I have a few close friends who have the game and say it's really good.

BTW, It's not really just Oblivion with guns, it has Western RPG elements in it, but other than that, it's an open-world shooter.

I dont think Fallout 3 will make you happy. It's alot like Oblivion ( Large open world ) But it is with guns and the super cool vats system so who know but I would go for something else then if I was you.

After my first go at Oblivion - I thought Id wasted 20notes....but then realsied Id been on it for about 4 hours...turned out to be an amazing story - so engrossing

The bugs are minimal, most not even worth noting. Oblivion isnt really a game thats fun to watch, but its so engrossing when you play it yourself. Fallout 3 isnt Oblivion with guns. It has that Bethesda touch, but its a whole different beast. Its an awesome game. It starts off very slow IMO, but when it picks up, it gets more amazing each minute.hillelslovak

This .. also thought Fallout started real slow .. but as you get better guns and go up in levels the game becomes amazing ..

i bought oblivion because everyone kept saying how good it was. but ithink its kinda boring only played for bout 2 hours and that was a long time ago it still sitting on my shelf:?rogelio22

yea oblivions not fun to watch. you have to get into the story but i did feel overated.

anyways fallout 3 is tight. VATS is really tight especially with the shotgun point blank to the face. Their head just goes flying in slow mo.

I don't believe that .. I have both .. and honestly Fallout covers the same RPG styles .. but it's a much different game ..

I played Oblivion and I hated it. It is boring and I couldn't stand to play through it all. Now I'm not so sure about Fallout 3, but it should be better because it at least doesn't have that poor excuse for sword combat in Oblivion.Timex2020

Gamefly, my friend, Gamefly. It is a beautiful service. I don't just buy games like some people. I like to make sure I like a game before spending 60 bones on it.

I prefer my games to be somewhat linear. The sheer openness of Oblivion was a bit overwhelming. When your gaming time is restricted because of family or work, then having a game with a multitude of sidequests can be daunting since I feel that if I don't complete every quest then I'm not getting my money's worth. So really, with me, it's because of circumstance. Although, Oblivion did honestly bore me to tears. I really would like to check Fallout 3 out (since I loved Fallout 1 and 2), but I'm a little afraid it might be a little too much like Oblivion.

Fallout and Oblivion are very different. Oblivion is a bit slower, although it's still a great game. Fallout feels more faster paced and the story line is also really good... it's an amazing game.

If you are an RPG fan, it is a definite go. If you are a shooter fan, rent first.

I played the original Fallout, Morrowind, Oblivion and now Fallout 3. Fallout 3 is similar to Oblivion, because of the same engine, but perks and VATS make it vastly different in terms of gameplay.

Anyone on the fence should rent. Not all good or great games are for everyone.
