If I liked ROFM as a 1st person shooter, what else will I like?

Looking for another FPS like ROFM... ??

As far as story and stuff, their nothing really like it. Its kinda it own "weird guns and stuff" thing. RESISTANCE may have not been the top FPS out their, but it was good. Just going back and seeing weird glows coming threw the walls. And about to blast out threw them. Backing me away from my corner spot. Knowing they were shooting at me "despite not seeing me" That was cool. Had some of the best FPS weapons Ihave ever saw. But the first 2 or 3 levels, kinda killed how good the game really was.

Oh and it has the flashlight parts. You have to have those freaky flashlight parts. Although those get me a little dizzy also sometimes.



But as far as FPSers. Their a dime a dozen if you want more. But you wont get the same game as RESISTANCE. But theirs all kinds of FPSers. That do thier own thing.

COD4?

The PS3 has quite a lot of FPS games, though some are better than others: Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, UT3 and Rainbow Six: Vegas just to name a few. Silent-Hal

I have COD4, R:FoM, played FEAR on the PC. And just recently got Orange Box.

Of these 4 so far R:FoM is my least fav, Granted I haven't finished it but, I don't like the way the combat works. Having to shoot the dumb mobs 4 times in the face is not my style i like headshots to count baby woot. It's not a bad game at all I enjoy it, the story is sweet. Just my least Fav. The multiplayer is sweet but I dont play it anymore, the server population is dwindling a bit from what i hear...

Fear is a great game. Again I played it on PC so i dunno how the PS3 version turned out, but the combat is fun and the creepy atmosphere will have you scared crapless and like peeking around corners hoping not to see little scary girl runnin at you lol. This game is more about the atmosphere than the combat though, and I have no idea what the multiplayer is like ( or if it even has it ) on the PS3 version.

COD4 is the SHIAT. The single player mode is by far the best I have ever played in a FPS ( it *IS* a little short... Not like horribly short like people make it out to be... But it won't take you more than a day or two to beat it on normal. ) What you get during that short time though is friggin epic. I won't give any spoilers away but at the end like... Your whole point of view on war may change lol it is just great. As amazing as the single player is, the Multiplayer is WOOOOOT TIIIIGHT. lol. I have over 6 days logged on playing, am in a great clan, and just enjoy the hell out of it. There are tons of diff mission styles to play. The combat is just awesome, You gain XP as you play and unlock new weapons and " perks " ( abilities you can use in the game ). It feels really rewarding and the game online is just fantastic. ( ok ok ok it's not perfect, the servers could use some work... Sometimes hard to find a game but bleh buy it anyway )

I just got the Orange box last night. I am replaying through HL2 atm. Which I tried to play on my then crappy laptop back when it was first released on PC only to have my framerate drop to unplayable rates towards the end of the game. This version performs great ( although the loading times make me sad, and when you die it takes forever to load your saved game back up.) You also get HL2: Episode 1 and 2, a little puzzle game everyone is crazy about called Portal, and an online game called Team Fortress 2. Now I am making myself play through all the single player games before I try out TF2, but i used to be totally addicted to TF1. ( I played it on dialup, ever tried to snipe on dial-up ? do you know how far ahead of a guy's head you have to aim to hit him mid - stride when your ping is 859 ? rofl ). I haven't heard much about TF2 and I kinda doubt it is going to be better than COD4 but I am sure it is solid.

Ok well there is my input on the games lol hope it helps you out a bit.

UT3 might be a good fps, but if he wants something like RFOM - stay away from UT3. I am in the same boat - loved RFOM and rented UT3 thinking I would love it - HATED it. Not saying it is a good / bad game, just not at all what I wanted and I wanted something along the lines of RFOM....

COD4 for now is what I am going to do and then Haze / Killzone2

After re-reading the post I would say Orange Box. If you love R:FoM then the alien blasting in HL will make you feel more at home, beware though, there are alot of puzzles in the game which make it a bit diff than R:FoM. You have to think alot more in Orange Box.
