Kind of stranger question when is you could make say "what is favourite genre" and it be easy, but is basic same question. Or at least get same answers.
Action Adventure. It offers the most comprehensive gameplay out of all the other genres. It can mix and match RPG elements, shooter elements, platformer elements, fighting elements, all in one package.

RPGs. There were so many RPGs on PS2 (specifically JRPGs) and I would love PS3 to have even more and even better ones. Sadly considering what's been released so far though, it's not looking it'll be anywhere close.

Action adventure for sure! most of the times these have RPG elements attached though. Zelda / Kingdom Hearts / Shadows of the Colossus all perfect examples of games I'll never get bored of.
shooters...my 3 favourite games (uncharted, fallout3 and bioshock) are all shooters (even though u could fit uncharted and fallout into other genres as well..)
There are some RPG's I absolutely love, but there's only a select few so i'll say shooters because more of my time is spent playing shooters, not enough RPG's that I like to have a whole console dedicated to them.
