If you could make a PS3 update...

What would it be?

I'd really like them to allow you to listen to music while playing any game that would be awesome.

Only thing I can think of is Internet Browser during single player games. When you get stuck and need to refer to an FAQ but don't want to waltz over and power up your PC for a simple text page and not forced to quit your game either.

Custom music would be great, but they've already made it "up to devs" which actually stinks imo

More codecs and different video files support (.mkv anybody?)

Cross voice chat would be nice, maybe user avatars and seemles game invites

Voice recognition in the XMB and browser perhaps? It would be a lot more convenient than hooking up a keyboard, and less awkward (potentially) than using the on-screen one.

The reason you can only do seven, instead of an even eight, is because that's the technical limitation of bluetooth. (Eight devices total, including the host [PS3])

maybe somehow putting all the PSN regions together rather than all seperate n bye doing dat try to also improve the customisation options for the psn account n get rid of the frikin region based downloadable content!!!!!!!

also a ingame browser n music player might be nice

but i mean most of the system updates have nothing important inside them to improve ps3 efficiency execpt for the in game XMB but thats pretty pointless without the music player though

hmm that last one is pretty nift idea

i would put the song 'my console' as the start up tune.

its actually a good song imo.

as for ideas i would like the feature of folders, so i can store video and music files the way i want to instead of just listing everything like an ipod.

Also i would like a feature that can turn my ps3 on at a certain time of the day and start downloads that i have already queued.

because in australia our internet plans are based on peak and off peak times and we get different data allowances for each period. obviously peak data gets used up easily since that is when you are using it the most, however your off peak time is scheduled at time like 1am-12pm or something like that. so it would be handy if i could time my downloads. its not a big deal it would just make my life a little bit easier.

I'd bring back PS2 backwards compatibility.

I don't care about anything other than cross-game private chat.

If not BC for every ps3, at least full BC on the 80gb BC systems so we could play games like chrono cross without having to worry about freezing/lag issues.

The slide also had the wheel, mic and PSP filling in the remaining USB ports.

Only 2 features i want at this point

PS2 Backwards Compatibility again and being able to access the internet browser in-game after that i really dont care
