...and put them into one game, what would you make?

Put down the games, the best parts about them, and possibly a description of the end product with some story and character ideas, and gameplay ideas. Make em interesting and good :)

I'll start off short and sweet.

Storytelling of MGS series.

Graphics of Killzone 2.

Setting/Gameplay type of Silent Hill.

I'd love to make a really scary game, one based on psychological scares, set in a town with crazy inhabitants and wild events. I'm thinking Silent Hill type scary, with some new ways of scaring people instead of just bloody hallways and things jumping out at you. I'd want to have very sparse health and ammunition, if it'll even have guns. The best idea would be to run and avoid fighting. The story could be something that only Hideo could come up with of course :) So it'll be crazy, confusing, but overall satisfying and well thought-out. And you can't go wrong with amazing graphics, if it's just to show disturbing images and such.

Well I'm going to bed so that's all I got right now, but leave your ideas please! And comment on other's.

Having played a large amount of horror titles myself, I don't think MGS' storytelling style would work all that well when applied to a horror game. It's just too OTT and over-dramatic, it would just end up detracting from the rest of such a game.

OK. I would take Dead Space to a whole new level.

Dead Space atmosphere, guns, gameplay, aliens, sound etc. But have it set on the necromorphs home planet. It would have the graphics of Killzone 2 and a constantly dark wasteland, open world design of Fallout 3. You will stay as Isaac Clarke and will have to find the source of the necromorphs, with the finale of a giant boss!

10/10 if that happened. :)

i disagree.. when on max setting crysis is unbelievable level in terms of graphics, still KZ2 is the king on console.. specially on the train part, that game is insanely good.

graphics:Killzone 2(Duh)

gameplay:uncharted and god of war mashed together

story:kind of Resident Evil

It will be a survival horror with brutal action in an open city environment.thousands of zombies in the streets.huge bosses like god of war or shadow of the culossus.u can fight ur way through the streets bashing zombies with clubs ripping off their limbs(KRATOS kind of a character) and use guns or u could pass over them by climbing over roofs or buildings. u can enter buildings to save someone or stuff like that nd u get attacked by tons of zombies.that would be pretty much fun

* The free roaming, sandbox format of GTA.

* The 'custom character' system from WWE Smackdown v.s Raw games. ' Cause, it would be cool to make your own game heroes.

* The cinematic presentation of MGS.

I max out Crysis on my computer and it is a beautiful looking game, but it's not leaps and bounds beyond killzone by any means, they both look incredible and they are a lot different I think. It's difficult to compare as easily as people like to do and just say one is better, I think some things look better on each game.

The story telling in MGS4 is incredibly over-rated, sorry. That's why its taking so long for games to be taken seriously as an entertainment medium, since melodramatic, preachy and pretentious ridiculousness is regarded as the prime example of video game story telling at its best. A game would have to have writing as strong as the movie industry's best before we all hail it to be fantastic story telling.

MGS4 was a fantastic game, but I find that people put every aspect of it on a pedestal, in some cases completely undeservingly. Story is one example, voice acting is another. The voice acting is mediocre at best, and the dialogue is juvenile. And throwing in buzz terms like "war economy" doesn't instantly make a story deep.

Anyways, back on topic:

Animation of Uncharted Gameplay of MGS4

Lighting, Lens and particle effects of KZ2

Sound design and editing of Dead Space

Open world design of Farcry 2

Music by Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill composer)

Writing by David Cage (Heavy Rain director)
