TBH, I think GOTY is something respectable enough that it worths players invest emotions in it rather than some adrenalin injections. MGS4 just worths every ounce of its sault.

Same goes for voice acting...oh well. MGS4 best Ps3 title. Still, its looking like GTAIV is going to win goty again. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
idk i just think that gta 4 is over rated and never deserved a 10 maybe a 9 but not a 10 i dont feel it was amazingly revolutionary it didnt keep my attention and over all didnt leave me wowed

one story is about all new characters and such and does a great job of character development and has a good overall story arch. MGS4 is totally different, it expects you are aware of everyone already and the whole thing plays out like one big ending. still a great story, just i can see how it doesn't win.
I'm not surprised. I'm still interested to see what game IGN awards overall GotY, though. My money is on MGS4, but IGN loves Fallout 3 and GTAIV...babystapler
