I'm a Proud PS3 owner, but I'm not proud of the PS3 games. Help me

So I am a pretty big PC gamer, have been since 03 or so. Before that I was an average console gamer I guess but even then PS2 was kinda lame and sold it since I never played it anymore.

However I loved MGS4 so much that I bought the bundle exclusive from konami's site, and I'm trying to get back into console/ps3 games but everything looks so cliche, bland and boring.

All FPS on ps3 don't look great and after being spoiled with a great PC and great PC games all these PS3 games look like a waste of money and time.

Killzone and Resistance games don't look appealing at all FPS are much better on PC than consoles, uncharted demo was weak to me, bought Soul Calibur 4, ebayed it away asap, just bought SF4 having some fun with it. Even MGS4 gameplay isn't as fun as some PC games that I have came across, but I love it to death because I'm a die hard fan of the story and lore. Still MGS4 even though it's a great game, still feel like it lacks substance compared to major PC games. Is there really any must have, "can't live without" title for PS3?

I love Valkyria Chronicles, but wasn't one of the best games/stories i've come across. PS3 is starting to feel like it's nothing special more and more I try to look for games for it.

Try LittleBigPlanet. It's unique and you can't play that on the PC. 8)

i dont think there is any cant live without games for the ps3...but most of the games lived up to the hype like killzone 2

PS2 has been said as the best console ever, if u thought it had lame games then i cant help u. IMO Playstation has the most and best exclusives.

it was trully the best console with the wides selection of games (especially RPGs). if you ddn't like the PS2 games, there is no hope, sorry.

I have a PS3 and love it, but it would be forced to say it has the best exclusives anymore..because they simply haven't appeared. Now I own MGS4 and LBP and love them, but they are part of a generally short list. Killzone 2 was pretty good, but imo its just as overrated as halo. Its pretty and plays well, but its the same old fps as all the rest, just with more bells and whistles. Guess my point is Playstation has some great "potential" exclusives...but that has yet to be seen. GOW3, GT5...they have potential but are not proven. The biggest mistake we could do is automatically consider them great. I find that is going around alot lately on all platforms.

My question? where the hell are all the JRPGS? I bought my PS3 for rpgs, because like many i considered the ps2 king of the rpg and there was no way the ps3 would miss out. Over two years and pretty much nothing big has come out. The few outstanding games released were multi-platform (i'll play oblivion on my pc thank you), and we have nothing good coming for the forseeable future. FFXIII is multi now. Square Enix has to max their profits so I don't blame them. Atlus has pretty much decided to stay on ps2 and 360 for now. There is a megaten game coming to ps3 but it has no release date. And on top of that, I have no BC in my ps3 to play my old favs (my ps2 is busted and i'm not spending 120 on a new one).

IMO, the PS3 has lost its momentum. Even if Sony antes up and releases some great games..how many can we expect from them over the next 2 years? GT5, plus a few more sequels of cash cows? Killzone 3, GOW3..GOW4?, LBP2? And on top of it power is limited...why are we still at 720p? Trust me, the spec is overrated. Anyways, I'm looking forward to the PS4. Sony needs to do with the ps3 what microsoft is doing with Vista, shove a ton of cash at the next thing and make it bad ass. If they do it right they can reclaim the throne....i'm tired of sitting contently in 3rd place. It seems no one wants to make games for third place unless it can work on second place's product also. Am I alone here? I second the OP.

Oh, and please don't BS me on how we have a better product, because a when i comes to capitalism, its not who has the better product...its about who sells more product.

Try Dead Space, Assasins Creed, HAWX, COD4 or Fall Out 3. But again they are multi platform. I am an avid pc, xbox, xbox 360, and ps2 gamer. I just bought my ps3 and other than mgs4 and Dead Space I am not impressed. (with the ps3 gaming) I prefer the 360 controller because the ps3 (and ps2) controller is to small. Whatever fan boys. IT SUCKS. It is to small for an adult male with real size man hands. I do not give a **** if you say it fits your man size hands. It is not comfortable. But I deal with it because I like the games. The main thing I use my ps3 for is to rent movies, listen to music, and play blu ray. Not that I am bashing ps3. It is an excellent media center. But only an average gaming console. If it only played games I would still have bought it. Becuase of msg4. To me ONE game is not enough to justify a console purchase. But a guy brought it to game night at work and I was blown away. So I bought it the next day. Do I regret the purchase? No I needed a new blu ray player, and I wanted msg4. Hopefully this summer some new games will breath life into the console. Good luck with finding some games you enjoy. I have only had my ps3 2 months. So as I try more games I may be more impressed.
