I'm buying a PSP...

Now I need to know what games people would recommend? I am looking for the best in each genre, such as the best racing game, sports game, shooter, platformer, etc. FYI- I don't really like Japanese/anime games, so FF is out. I've been looking at Daxter, the Wipeouts, God of War, and some others.

God of War is a pretty good buy, for shooters if you don't mind useing the face buttons to aim, then Medal of Honor is a good buy, I had alot of fun with that game playing Single Player and Online. Best racing game..You should wait for the new Midnight Club or Need for Speed, and sports and platformer...im not so sure abt those ones. Hope it helped :D

Wait...I don't know if Force Unleashed would be a Playformer but thats a game you might like:D

Take a look at the recommendation thread, i'm sure you will find many of that you like there.

If not..

Adventure/action: Monster hunter, Monster hunter freedom 2, God of war, Daxter, Rachet and clank.. etc.

RPG: diseaga, FF crisis core, Tales radient, Jeanne d'arc.. etc.

Those are some of which I own/like.

Because this is a better way to get recommendations. I have always hated using rec threads. I don't think they work very well. If you don't like the thread, then you don't have to read/comment on it.

These games are some of my favorites:

Shooter: SOCOM, Syphon Filter, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
Action: God Of War, Daxter, Ratchet & Clank
Racing: Burnout Legends, Wipeout
Puzzle/Other: Puzzle Quest, Patapon, Lumines, LocoRoco
Sports: Hot Shots Golf

My highest recommendation goes to Hot Shots Golf. I've played that game more than all the other games I own combined. It's simple, fun, and addictive. It's amazing how much appeal it has - my girlfriend loves it, my hardcore gamer buddies love it, and it convinced a few of my non-gamer friends to pick up PSPs. At least pick it up used at GameStop to see if you like it.

Do yourself a favor & get home consoles. The current Xbox goes for the same price as a slim. I'm not trying to be a tr*ll here but I made a mistake on investing money on the Ds & Psp.Both are a step down if you are used to consoles & feels very different.4dry4n

if u dont own a 360 by now get 1, their fun as hell if u get online and i cant wait for gears 2 and fable2,

I have a 360! IMO the best console purchase I have made. My PSP, DS & Wii are collecting dust. I love my PS2 but it's old generation & I love playing online & being competitive with my fellow gamers.4dry4n

I have had a 360 since launch, and I have a Wii too. I am very happy with both. I still need a portable console though. I had a PSP at launch, but soon traded it in for a DS lite to get all the Mario games. Those are now played out, and now I am looking to get back to the PSP. Back when I got it at launch I had NFS, Tiger Woods, and Untold Legends. Now that it has been out a couple of years I was wondering what everyone considered the best titles to be in each genre.

What does everyone think the best racer is?

Action/Adventure?

Sports game?

Best online?

Everything online sucks the wahzoo because of the proliferation of Action Replay using hampster-smugglin' hole-pluggers and Sony could care less as long as they get your money before you figure it out. Don't buy a hand-held of any kind if you want a decent online experience. Pass it on.
