The one I want is a Samsung 720p, but the thing is, it's contrast ratio is 3000:1  But there is this Poloroid tv, that displays 720p as well, but its contrast ratio is 800:1. The Poloroid is about $200 cheaper than the Samsung. Now, my question, Will the 3000:1 vs. the 800:1 contrast ratio really matter being that they are both 720p, will I really notice any differance while gaming? Thanks.

ere is unfortunately no industry standard on contrast ratios, so there is no real way of judging apples to apples. Buy the one that looks better to your eyes.T

I'm flattered that after all this time, my work in photoshop is still being used (read: stolen) by other people

Enjoy my old avatar.

Samsung. The respectable brand name and better contrast ratio, you can't go wrong.

And only $200 more? If you're spending a good amount of money as it is, spend the little extra and get something you'll truly be happy with when you bring it home.

Wait for the Samsung 1080p LCD to drop in price and buy it because the PS3 supports 1080p.

Always buy the game systems first because they don't drop in price.  PSP had there first real price drop in 2 years and that only $30.   TVs drop real fast.  It could be a difference of $500 in one year.

I don't think I can stand playing on my big fat square hunk of junk tube anymore, besides the Sammy was $900 and now it is $750, but meh.
