To those with vast knowledge regarding LCD HDTVs, I need some help. I bought this TVhttp://www.samsung.com/Products/TV/ArchivedTVs_2006/LNS3251DXXAA.asp?page=Specificationsand I bought it because it said it could display games at 720p (plus it had 2 HDMI ports). Then when I went to check the specifications on it, I came across that part about the HDMI cables information (click on the link and check it) and it says that it displays the picture at 1080i with the HDMI cable, but not 720p or other resolutions for that matter (using HDMI cables only). However if you cared to click the link I provided and see for yourself, it says next to the Component cables capabilities that it can display at 1080i/720p/480p/480i. So after reading that I found myself confused...Am I able to play games at 720p using only Component cables? Does the HDMI cable display only at 1080i?

HDMI supports all resolutions. I didn't click the link, but I know HDMI can output a 720p signal. I have an LCD Projection with 2 HDMI ports and they both support all resolutions. I'm thinking it's a mistake on that site.

So I'm assuming that your TV only goes as high as mine (1080i/720p/480p/480i). Can you tell me how do Blu Ray movies look on your TV, cuz they look grainy on mine (using an HDMI cable).

Having issues replying - 3 failed attempts so abbreviating. You got a 768 fixed display. It will convert the 1080i picture to that no problem. If you read the manual at page 25 it confirms that HDMI can do 1080i. Just follow your own link and go to the full manual

Set your PS3 to output 1080i and 720p then it will send the 1080i to the tv and it should look spectacular. The ps3 can't downconvert to 720p so you need to let your tv do that job (which it can)

If you TV will display 1080i and 720p signals then dont worry about waht it says for the HDMI connection. As far as grainy blurays, yer on yer own. Mine look amazing on my toshiba.

So you guys think I should stick with HDMI cables or should I buy a set of Component cables too?
