I'm kind of new to the PS3. So this is what I plan on buying. I really wanna try to spend less then 2000 dollars. So heres what I plan on getting.

PS3 With MGS4 Bundle (80 Gig)

GTA4

Warhawk

I plan on getting a new TV 32 Inch 1080P Vizio

HDMI components for full detail

Everythings gonna run me about 1500 dollars. Would anyone recommend me getting anything else? Or does this seem good enough for awhile?

Also plz don't suggest a new TV I'm set on that one.

Also I plan on getthing this all by mid to late July would the MGS4 bundle still be around by then? Or is that only a limited amount of time thats around?

i have no choice but to suggest a different tv. 1080p is too big of a resolution on a 32 in tv and is not really good. 720p is better for 32in, top of the line 32's are 720p and most games are better run on 720p..i'd rethink it.

It all sounds good and you're pretty much covered. I suppose if you really needed them you could buy some extra controllers or a memory card adaptor for any old ps2/ps1 game saves you want to transfer. As for the MGS 4 bundle, it will probably still be around come mide July consider it only would have been 1 month after release and a bundle of this caliber would surely sell some systems, so sony will keep it going as long as it's popular.

Yeah, 1080p isn't really worth it with a screen that size. 720p and 1080i are just fine for 32". I suggest eventually getting a surround sound system if you ever consider it. It's not necessary, but it adds a lot to the experience and can help a lot in online play. I've heard a bunch of people try to sneak up on me in CoD4, only to be surprised by me waiting for them after I heard their footsteps lol.

Get Cod4. Try to scratch Warhawk if you can. There's new maps but you have to pay some money for them.

Switch out Warhawk for Resistance or Call of Duty 4 and it will be a great setup. Warhawk is just not the same caliber as Resistance of COD4 to me...but to each his own.

I'd suggest at least a 10ft cable just incase you need extra later you don't want to buy another cable. You can get them for around $5 on several websites like newegg or monoprice.

Yeah i'd recommend finding a way to fit Uncharted in there. One of the best ps3 exclusives, if not the best until tomorrow.

Agreed. Lol. It's a waste if you don't have anything bigger than 46 inches? Somewhere along those numbers you can see the difference. But yeah, 1080p is meant for a bigger screen. 720p is better for that size. You'll probably save yourself money by not going for the 1080p. But to each his own.

I plan on getting myself a ps3 soon, and still haven't decided on a tv yet.

Btw, Opeth is a good band.

I would suggest getting a Sony Bravia that supports up to 1080i (including 720p) and there was an add for a nice looking Sony surround sound system (with a ipod dock included for less than $400.00 at Wal-Mart). This would give the PS3 the best setup for the size TV you want.

The 720p Sony HDTV also has one of best color saturation features (along with a few more HDTV"s). This will really make things look a lot better than most 1080p HDTV's. The higher resolutions don't always mean the best picture (on low end TV's this really shows up).

if i were you, I'd honestly get the bundle right now. Walmart has an awesome deal going right now. Check the gamespot news for the details. You basically buy the MGS bundle and get a $100 gift card. Who doesn't shop at walmart anyways, that's like cash basically.

Also, I would highly recommend a bigger tv. Those Vizio's actually are not bad at all for the price. Check the prices for the 42 inch Vizio at Sams Club. It's worth the little extra $. A 32" lcd is really small, you have to take into consideration that it's widescreen. Plus hey, if you get the bundle deal, you can use the gift card towards the tv at sams.

You can save money on the HDMI cable buy buying online at amazon. I got one for $5.

You're welcome.

Sorry but I have to come out and say it. It seems like you're paying around 600-700 for that Vizio? I would reconsider. The picture quality is bad. I would go with a Sony, Sharp, or Samsung. Even an LG, if you could. Those Vizios are mass produced and are of terrible quality. Just like those cheap motorola bluetooth headsets they have at Costco.

Oh, and one more thing. Dont listen to people that say it will be here for a long time, or for two more months. It's "limited" so it can be over in one week, two weeks, or one month. It all depends on the supply and demand. And it looks like people are grabbing this bundle up like crazy. Whether these gamers already have a PS3 or dont, they're buying it. It's a once in a lifetime MGS4 Bundle. A lot of sellers will buy these things and sell them for a lot more when they're no longer around. Dont take my word for it, but the word "limited" has its underlying meaning. If I were you, I would try my best to get it this month.

OK I see everyone says get a new TV. However I'm sticking with Vizio. My uncle has always bought Vizios and says they're great. Anyways I can see if I have room for it in my room on the TV but what if instead of a 32 inch 1080P I bumped it up to this.

Dude warhawk is my favourite ps3 game so far. But then again im not really a fan of FPS so those games dont really appeal to me anyways.

yeh nice setup get everything you stated and then collect as you go youll find it better to get 1-2 games a month rather than a whole lot at once.

I have myself the 32" Vizio and the Playstation 3 connected via HDMI. Now I just need the games, what I plan on buying is Metal Gear Solid 4, GTA IV, Call of Duty 4, & Burnout Paradise. The 42" Vizio looks great and you are set on your games. Only thing for you to purchase is Avia or DVE, a calibration tool CD that calibrates the colors, brightness, contrast, etc on your HDTV to make it look way better.

dont get a vizio..my cousin got one for his ps3 and it stopped working correctly short thereafter. plus 32" u dont need 1080p..just get a 720p cuz it be the same thing. u wont notice the difference.

edit: u cant see the difference in 720p and 1080p in screens 32" or lower.

Yes i think the 40 in is much better if your set on 1080p. I wil just also throw in that athough your uncle says that he's always bought vizio and is happy with them. For one i don't think vizio has been around for that long so i don't know why he's buying so many. But if he had sony or any of those other tv's you know he'd be telling you how great those are. You could get a sony or samsung in the same price range you are looking so don't be afraid to look into sony's or anything else. If you can trust vizio you can trust sony or samsung. Well you have some time to think about it all but if you have the money to spend already i would say go get it in the morning! free 100 with PS3 purchase so youll have the 100 for the tv cant beat that,

Get Ridge Racer 7, it's only 28 bucks at Amazon. It's one of the VERY few games that actually run at 1080p (1920x1080) for real. It's lots of fun & has online racing & co-op & leaderboards.

Fight Night Round 3 is also another game that's cheap now & lots of fun. I think that one's 30 bucks now.

& good choice on TV. Vizio is the best bang/buck. You should buy it at Costco if you have one near you. Better warranty.

And if you're getting your PS3 at Wal-Mart w/ that $100 gift card. Get the 3 year warranty for $50. It starts after the Sony 1 year is over & it's transferable to any1 u give or sell the system to. So if anything happens to it w/in 4 years you can get a replacement. That way you dont have to worry about the laser dying, or dust & heat **** it up. That's what i did, because i leave it doing Folding@Home whenever I'm not playing it. Help cure cancer!

The only "limited" thing about the MGS bundle is the 80GB console which still uses the 90nm Cell as opposed to the newer 65nm in the 40GB. It's how they're going to clear out the old model before they reintroduce a 120GB one w/ 65nm chips.

& Vizio have been consistantly rated as some of the best values in TVs. You realize that about 90% of LCD TVs have panels made in the same factory? Sonys are insanely overpriced. Samsungs are good though, I agree. But not as good a value as Vizio. LG is no different than Vizio

Please keep all questions about what games to get in the Game Recommendation Thread. Thanks.
