Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, One of the GTA games since liberty city is $20, burnout legends also $20, lumines 1 or 2, Megaman Maverick Hunter X, Marvel Ultimate Alliance if you have wifi connection in your house with a router, Killzone Liberation, Ace Combat X, and Lego Star Wars. Those are all good games.
it depends on what kind of games you are interested in, if say it's fighting games then get either Tekken or Street Fighter Alpha 3max, if it plat-formers then Daxter, Mega-man Powered Up, or the upcoming Ratchet And Clank, if it's sport games then Madden 07, Fight Night Round 3, if it's shooters then Syphon Filter, Metal Gear Solid PO, or Socom FTB2, if it's racing games then burnout Legends, Mx vs Atv, or Race Driver 2006, if it's puzzles then Lumines 2 or Locoroco, If it's Rpg then Dungeon Siege, Kingdom of Paradise. There are so many cool games on the PSP where to start depends on your personal taste!

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror is a great shooter, especially online. Metal Gear Solid: PO is also a very good shooter/stealth game.Socom:FTB and Medal of Honor:Heroes are great if you have wireless internet access. Ratchet&Clank is coming out very soon and is a great action/adventure game. Same with Daxter. For racing there's Burnout Legends, Wipeout Pure, Midnight Club3, and Need for Speed:Carbon. Those are just a few great games to start out with.
Well it is fortuitous that you are getting a PSP on february 13th because IGN just reviewed Ratchet and Clank an gave it a 9.0. So I would go with that because there is an absolute mountain of extras and multiplayer gives it a good replay value. Also the Warriors got an 8.2 and is only $20. Honestly a $20 Rockstar game is a steal. Considering it has a pretty decent story line as compared to either of the Grand Theft Auto’s for PSP It would be my choice.
