Should I get the PSPGo or the PSP 3000? I'm kind of torn. I like that the Go has 16 GB of memory on it, but not having any UMD support is a drawback for me, I think. I wanna know how much space your average game takes up like God of War and Resistance. I like that the 3000 has UMD support, but don't like how you have to buya memory stick for it and it's only 4 GB. I wish I knew how much space downloaded games from the PSN take up. Is 4GB enough? What's your experience with the space issue and which do you PSP vets prefer?

Ibelieve 16GB memory sticks are available for the PSP 3000 - personally i think you should buy a 3000, decent value for money, money saved can contribute to game(s) memory stick(s). 3000 supports UMD & Digital downloads. PSP 1000, 2000 & 3000 have best of both worlds :)

Which ever you choose, Happy PSP'ing & Congratulations :)

There are better investments for your money out there. Make absolutely sure you want one, especially if it's a Go. The hardware is great for the most part but the game selection is not where it ought to be in the U.S.

Since your biggest drawback for the 3000 is something that can be rectified (there are large memory sticks out there) and your biggest drawback for the Go can't be solved, I'm going to have to suggest a 3000 to you. I still advocate getting your hands on both, if possible, since I find the 3000s design intolerably uncomfortable. But I'm not going to recommend a Go when you might find the 3000s design acceptable (I don't think anyone thinks the analog placement is actually good).

The PSP 3000 is over all THE best hand held gaming device ever made, Why would you consider anything else. The DSi does have alot better games but it's still 2nd to the PSP 3000...O BTW you can have a endless amount of memory on the PSP 3000 just get new Memory cards and complete access to the PSN

My average game takes up no more than 1 gig.

If you check out the PSN store you can also check the file sizes for the game. It's listed right next to the title.

I would prefer the 3000, since it has almost everything the Go has, and I would just add a decent sized Memory stick to it.

Either way, if you run out of space, you can just delete some of the games you have and re-download them whenever you need them

In where I live, UMD's cost at least 70 USD (US dollars), but the PSN versions are only about 30 USD.

in your case i would suggest the 3000. But to put 16gbs of games in your perspective this is my psp go memory card.

You really have a little over 14gbs when you really start.

I have:

1. Beaterator: 660mb

2. Patapon 2: 360mb

3. Star Wars Battlefront: elite Squadron: 961mb

4. Motorstorm: arctic edge: 524 mb

5. Half-minute hero: 101 mb

6. Killzone: Liberation : 510mb

7. Loco Roco: 525mb

8. Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness: 889mb

9. GTA: Chinatown Wars: 526mb

10. 5(five) miniS : total of 170mb

total MB: 5.2GB

and 8 gbs of music

which leaves me 1.1GBs left

If you really want the UMD games and the only drawback is the space I wouldn't worry about it, since you can get a 16gb mem stick. I prefer the Go because of the size (i never brought my 3000 anywhere because of it's size) and I don't really like having UMDs. there are plenty of good games on the PSN for the Go, but some older games just are never going to make it onto the store. It sounds like you would like the 3000 more though. just think about whether the size is going to be an issue, whether the PSN offers enough games for you personally, and how you feel about Digital downloads vs Physical media for psp games before you make your decision.

Thanks for all your help guys. I think I'm going to end up getting the 3000 and a big memory stick (the larger screen also appeals to me). But who knows? I may change my mind while I'm at the store. But I do appreciate all the info.
