I think my first platinum trophy was in Little Big Planet. Considering that it took a reasonable amount of effort, I felt pretty good about it. I've been trying not to get sucked in too much by it, but that feeling of accomplishment you get is really nice, not to mention when you're playing against someone and they say "Wow, look at how many Rock Band 2 trophies this guy has..." or "You got a Valor Grand Cross in KZ2???" or whatever.
Many of them are pretty easy to get, though... like Fallout 3's trophies were pretty easy, and Buzz Quiz TV can pretty much be done in a week or less. I got a platinum in Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection just because it only took me an hour or two to actually do it. I did go out of my way for Call of Duty World at War's platinum trophy, which I'm very proud of... that game was brutal on Veteran difficulty. I'm currently working on getting a platinum trophy in GTA IV, after which I'll probably get one in Rock Band 2, since I only have the drum trainer trophies and the Bladder of Steel trophy for it left so why not? I also got 100% in Lumines Supernova, which a lot of people seem to think is crazy, but I guess I'm just good at that sort of game.
More than the fact that I like to do things as well as I can and I am a sucker for a pat on the back, really I've just got raging OCD and can't stand not seeing 100% next to a game if I can help it (I can help it with Pain... the game sucks too bad). So yeah, as much as I've been trying to not get sucked in by it, I guess I'm kinda failing. But I only go out of my way for games I have and enjoy, so I guess it could be worse. I'm not about to rent the Hannah Montana game for trophies or anything.
Yeah getting a platinum trophy give a real sense of satisfaction and you feel like you achieved something. I currently have 4 platinums for Burnout Paradise, Uncharted, Dead Space and COD:WAW. ATM I'm going for the GTA4 platinum, I have 102 flying rats killed and I'm getting more right now, so much content in GTA4 which makes me happy also.
congrats! i was real happy once i got my first one also. in Cod5 my last one was sum of all zeros. it took me so long to get 45 planes and once i got it i was super excited.
There's no fun in it -for you- I personally like having a go at the challenging stuff. It's fun to complete something that's hard.I don't bother aiming for the platinum trophy. I think it is a waste of time. Some are like complete the game on survivor difficulty, which is just boring and hard. There is no fun in that.

I'll let you know when I get my first. >.>
I'm determined to get 100% on KZ 2. i'm getting close. I need 3 more medals and the top two weekly ranking trophies plus I need to beat the game on veteran and elite. I'm on the last boss on veteran on my old PSN, but I switched to a new PSN, so I'm playing through again on Veteran.
Got my first Platinum trophy with Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection that's probably the easiest game to get Platinum just have to be lucky when it comes to Mean Bean Machine. I'm working on getting my 2nd Platinum trophy with Resident Evil 5. I worked real hard when it came to getting Trophies with GTA 4, it was fun and time consuming to fiind all the Flying Rats and then collecting cars and all those other small things.
Good for you !! I unlocked the Burnout one by accident too , but it was my second by that time (did Uncharted first ) . I also have the fallout one, and am currently working at the Resistance 2 one (getting the 10000 kills online is tough) and the Dead Space one (need to complete on the hardest difficulty-chapter 5 at the moment) . I wonder if I'll ever get the WipeoutHD one (I'm affraid my skill is too low for that one, although I have the Zone 75trophy and the time trial on Anulpha Passone) or the GTA4 one . I also noticed that the Alone in the Dark one is easy, but that game is a little too frustrating for me...
