I'm not sure if I should buy a PS3 or just buy a new HD tv for my 360.

So I got an HD a while ago but it didn't work and I sent it in for tuneing. They couldn't fix it so they gave me a $1200 refund. Now I have a choice of a PS3 and a small HD tv or a new big HD for my 360. Here is the catch though. My dads friend bought a PS3 for his kid and his kid didn't want it. He is willing to sell it for 550 with 2 controlers and a game. What should I do?
ALSO: Is there a way I can clear all of the data on the PS3 if I buy it. Thanks :D

Doesn't matter where you get your PS3, but get one.  And a small HD along with it.  You can also get a HDCP LCD monitor that usually does 720p to 1080p for cheaper than anything labeled "HDTV."

But yeah, get a PS3 and a small HD.  I got a PS3 and I still need an HD!

How is it a bad deal if the PS3 itself costs 600? The only part I dislike about the deal is I don't know if i can clear all the data he put on there.

That's a good point. You may also want to ask if something happened to the unit. Not too many people purchase a PS3, a game, and 2 controllers (I'd estimate the value at slightly over $750) and then turn around and sell it for a $200 loss because his kid didn't want it.
