I'm seriously thinking of getting a PSP and I just wanted to know if they're any good. I've heard lots of contradicting views.

Are they really any good? and what games are decent for it?

Yes, PSP's are great handhelds that have loads of possibilities. And unlike the DS, PSP's are for anyone over the age of eight.

Its a great piece of technology, and one that I use just about everyday. Movies, music, games, Internet, RSS, it does it all! However, just know that the PSP is pricey. If you get a core package for $200, just don't forget to pick up a memory stick pro duo, too. 1 gigabyte should suffice.

I like my psp I traded my ds for it in march 2006. It's been one year and I'm still glade I traded it.

I'm not really interested in music or movies since I find the memory sticks very pricey 32mb is all you need for just saving games and updating firmware.

currently playing syphon filter, pirates, tekken, and GTA LCS

F.Y.I. I find the DS library completely lame.

If you like platformers then one of the best is Daxter, I think the best RPG is Tales Of Eternia which takes between 50 to 60 hours to complete and has got really short ingame loading times, my favourite FPS is Medal Of Honor: Frontline because it's great online and supports upto 32 players, Burnout Legends and Wipeout are two of the best racers and Burnout Dominator is out soon, if you like retro collections three of the best are Gradius Collection, Powerstone Collection, and Sega Megadrive or Genesis Collection which contains - Alex Kidd In The Enchanted Castle Altered Beast Bonanza Bros. Columns Comix Zone Decap Attach starring Chuck D. Head Ecco the Dolphin Ecco II: The Tides of Time Ecco Jr. Kid Chameleon Flicky Gain Ground Golden Axe Golden Axe II Golden Axe III Phantasy Star II Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millenium Ristar Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master Sonic The Hedgehog Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Super Thunder Blade Sword of Vermilion VectorMan VectorMan 2 Virtua Fighter 2

I like just about any game really. I love the Burnout series and the GTA series but the first thing that attracted me to the PSP are the retro games.

PSP is awesome, you can't possibly go wrong, just get a good 4GB mem stick for movies, songs etc, and a cheap 3600mAh battery of eBay. You'll love it.

Hey, I have owned a DS since it's launch and just a few days ago I finally decided to buy a PSP as well. My personal take is that it's a fantastic system and I'm really loving mine. :)

I think my DS Lite and PSP look great side by side as well, and I enjoy them both for their own reasons.

I own both a DS Lite and Psp, and for gaming its the the DS.
But for Multimedia things its the Psp.
I basically use my DS for playing games, and the Psp for MP3 and movies.

The PSP will only keep getting better this year, God of War and Castlevania is enough of a year, but theres also ratchet and clank, some final fantasy's and more!

It wholly depends on YOU. The PSP picks it's owner. If the person who buys it is unqualified (i.e. technologically illiterate), then it will be $250 better spent elsewhere

nice signature.......... too bad the "wii mote" thing is backwards.  Unless you want your controls backwards......

but seriously, It really seems the PSP is what it says it is.  A portable playstation.  On the other hand, a DS can't be compared to a portable gamecube.  The games are unique to the DS.  It seems you have to want PS games on the go to enjoy a psp.

My PSP chose me to pay only $200.00 for it.

^ Hey, congrats. Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I'm enjoying mine. It's such a fantastic device...

Just out of curiosity, what color did you go with?
