just cuz its an HD cable box does not mean that all channels are displayed in HD

they still broadcast the regular channels the most with HD alternatives

one day it will be the other way around though, HD primary with SD alternatives

Yeah, SD programming still looks like crap on an HDTV

Yeah, SD programming still looks like crap on an HDTV

TV signals sucks donkey B*lls, I have a 1080p LCD Samsung and is strictly for Blue ray, PS3 and XBOX 360... even DVD's looks a little awefull (once you are used to True HD nothing is the same)...

well the kung fu channel mostly shows older movies trying to upscale to 1080i. Just make sure you use hdmi for the cable box, make sure the cable box says 1080i lit up on the front.

Then you have to make sure your tv is set up right, check out hd news or newer movies on other channels.

I'm watching underworld evolution on starz HD and it looks very nice. The kung fu channel blows, though. My cable box says "1080I" above the time.

I just received my hd cable box and I'm viewing some kung fu in hd when I noticed that it looked like crap. WHY?! My tv displays 1080p and my hd cable is in 1080i...is that the problem? It just looks kind of crappy.MusashiSensi

This could be a problem because all the digital TV programs are broadcast in 1080i, the 1080p has a bandwidth that can't be broadcast over cable or satellite at this time. I have HD satellite and so far everything looks very nice including the old TV programs from years ago. My HDTV only goes up to 1080i, so if you can select this as a resolution on your TV this may help a good bit. Also I am using component cables from my satellite box because the HDMI output from the box went out.

I thought this thread was about HDtvs...not whether or not the TC looks like Dave Chappelle, which by the way, he does not!!! Other than the low haircut and skintone, my man doesn't look like him...I saw Chappelle when he came to tha Bean last year and I'm sorry to disappoint ya'll, but nope :?

As for HDtvs, I can't help you boss...I'm still messing with my girl's 32" SDtv...only a few more months til the upgrade!!!
