the most important part of online gaming to 99% of people is... playing games online. At the end of the day, this is free on PS3, and at a cost for 360. Regardless, with all the improvents made (in game XMB, trophies),, the difference between the two is so marginal now. I just wish PS3 games had custom soundtrack support

For online in games maybe but your theory doesn't apply to everything which is what I was pointing out. You made too broad a statement.

Lol deserve a trophy/acheivement for this since those seem to be so important and cool nowadays.

I'm going to have to go ahead and agree with the first poster. XBOX Live is far better than PSN when it comes to structure, reliability, and non-game offerings.

The big XBOX 360 games launch with little problem online while the PS3 exclusives are notorious for poor launches. Yes, Gears of War 2 is a little buggy in matchmaking, but I'm yet to get booted or see anywhere near the lag I saw in Socom or Little Big Planet. And all the Gears features were ready at launch.

But the PSN games are way better. They offer greater variety and aren't just rehashes of games I played when I was a kid. Oh yeah, that free to play thing isn't as big a deal as people make it.

I think I pay like $60 a year for XBOX Live. The cost of one game is worth a smooth and consistent online experience.

I love the PS3, but we have to be honest in these types of discussions. XBOX Live is more developed at this point.
