For me the versatility is great....but the game slection is not. I love that I can put music and videos on it to watch/listen to on the go, but there are only a two games of the announced 'coming soon' titles that I'm even moderatly interested in. That being said, it really has everything to do with my personal gaming preferances, there are tons of popular and successful titles available and more on the way, just not ones I'm in to.

Music, videos, games, and more. Plus, it's portable.

Depends on what kind of games you like to play. The DS seems to be more puzzles while the PSP is more action. The PSP also does multimedia while the DS doesn't. The large screen is a big help in that area.

lots of psp games are bad or just suck mostly due to lack of a second analogstick(SONY WHY DIDN'T YOU ADD ANOTHER ANALOGSTICK???) but still the psp does have good-great and fun games games plus those multimadia stuff like music, video, photo's, internet its a great portable thing, way better than the ds with its crappy gameboy graphics IMO

It all depends on whether or not you're looking for a handheld that seeks to recreate the console experience. The entire idea behind the PSP is that it is just that, a portable Playstation. The various other features are nice, but the real reson to get one is for the games, so make sure that you can get your $170 worth in gaming before taking the plunge.

Few good advices were already given, for me personally PSP complement the PS3. I find Remote Play quite handy when I'm on brakes or travel, be it vacation, subway, bus wait or whichever.

The # 1 reason should be for the games, yet I use it for media purposes majority of the time. I own few games to personal likings, not nothing major collection wise.

It all depends what you're looking for in PSP, it can provide gaming as well as music, videos and storage. I use it mostly to read Manga when I'm on long trips or store videos to kill time.

It's up to you really, however PSP is a nice multi-function portable unit, especially with crisp screen which means a lot to me.

^ agreed

the PSP is a multimedia monster considering its a gaming handheld and its capabilities are expanding. (check out the japanese psp peripherals!) and europe now is actually considering the use of GPS-PSP. music+vids+movies+games+apps+coolness+anywhere=PSP

:)
