If you're not going to buy new, you might as well wait two months for Sony to announce their next system.

Also what you meant to say is you're close to buying a PSP.

Are you in the U.S.? They go for $170-200 new in a store, depending on if you get the core pack or a bundle. Why buy off craigslist when you could just go to the store for the same price and have a receipt for returns if something were wrong?

Ahhh, in that case. Sony probably has a 1 year manufacturers warranty against defects. Might be able to look up warranty info on sony's website?

I found this. http://us.playstation.com/support/warranties/psp/index.htm Says one year after the day of purchase. But if i don't buy it in a retail store, how do they know if it has been more then one year ??

Ooh a PSP go as well :? ?

I don't know, it really seems like you're making a bad investment. But if you don't mind having just a couple of games and limiting your collection then by all means get it.

But some of the decisions made by Sony lately have shown a clear indication that they're planning something. The "10-game" deal alone shows Sony are trying to cut their losses quickly with the PSP Go.

Don't buy off craig'slist for 200. You can get the Core pack. it's 169$. It's the psp 3000 with couple assceriors and such for what you need. And don't wait two months for new system. God dam! look at all the people who said don't buy the MGS bundle...wait for e3!....Now they cant buy a MGS bundle because it's sold out and nothing was said. Sorry for the rant. That just pisses me off....But google PSP Core pack....That's what you should get. The PSP rocks

Warning...If you buy a PSP Go, then you will not be able to play some of the games that made the PSP so great...specifically, those that came out before October 2009. Oh, and Kingdom Hearts on PSP will only be avaliable on UMD. I recommend the 3000 no matter what.

Please, don't get the GO. lol. It has too many limitations. Like mentioned above, KH is UMD only. I've had my white 2000 for a while but you can pick up a good used one from gamestop for well under 200.

$200? You talking about the original or the PsP GO? the psp 3000 which I think is better then the go costs $169.99 for the core pack in the USA.

the psp is a great system for alot of reasons, and the warranty is one of them, its long lasting for a long lasting system. i would say... 2-3 years i think mine was. i bought mine two years ago tho, but i have never had a problem with it either so the warranty was just a very small just in case. and also your going to want to know that the games you buy will not be as long as console gameplay. but definitley can be just as good. i would recomend psp to anyone looking for a hand held system.

Hmm.. get the 3000

Can't you wait for TGS if they announce a new version of the PSP? Probably a psp 4000 (incremental update) or maybe even the PSP 2.

I highly recommend not getting a psp sony's return policy is horrible and every psp I have gotten has had something wrong with it. The first one I got the directional buttons didn't work ,the second one I got my home button and shoulder buttons wouldn't work I sent that into sony and they sent me a new one the new one wouldn't read disks I tried sending it back to sony and sony told me that they would not take it back for another one.

I think you just had very bad luck. My PSP works fine, and they're fairly durable. The only exception was a cheap refurbished PSP from ebay, had broken WiFi and a bad battery. But if you get a new PSP from retail, you should be fine.

You wont have warranty from Sony even if it is sealed. If something happens you will be required to have a copy of a receipt as proof of purchase or you will have to pay.

If you only learn one thing from this thread, make sure it's that you don't get the PSP Go...I'm sure most of us on this forum would back me up on that.
