I read on N4G.com that the other system 360 was up 33% in sales from last year and now boast 17million paying xbox live members. Plus tonight My offical sony headset blu tooth, broke on me and I cant get it replaced because I dont have areciept like Sony wants or the place I bought it from. Which lead me to think in the first place, is Sony in a bad bind? I mean they cannot repair for headset for free because they need a reciept and the xbox thing has me worried. Maybe Im just mouring over the loss of 50 bucks and then reading about the xbox thing is what worried me, or maybe there is actually something to MS fixing consoles and headsets without a reciept and giving out warrenties like candy. This really honestly has me worried. I bought my PS3 in early january, 80 gig model. Im going this tuesday to pick up a cheap usb logitech PS3 headset at gamestop.com for 25 bucks to replace it. I have killzone 2 paid off and I know Im going to get flamed, but Im nervous. No, I dont have stock invested and no I have nothing to lose except for the games I bought and the hardware and time ect. But I honestly hope Sony can get into abetter situation, lowering the price of the PS3 and such. These things should have us all thinking, because most of us are generational sony buyers. We were there for ps1, ps2 and the PS3 and if this fails there could be no more playstations. Maybe Im being overly paranoid thou........

Overly Paranoid

Rather have a broken bluetooth than RROD

And any bluetooth will work, you can get bluetooth headsets cheap now.

There is no dough that all of these extras are expensive. I mean, I couldn't imagen turning down a good game to get the ear piece or a keyboard. I think that whats great about the PS3 is that it works with anything thats blue tooth. XBOX however, is exclusive.

I own all 3 systems and so far the one that I have not had a problem with has been the Nintendo Wii. My 360 has broken down on me 3 times, and there was a point in time where my PS3 would just freeze up on me in the middle of a game.

well this topic seems opion oriented so i'll give mine. Microsoft is alot more generous with their warranty coverage because from what i've seen a fair amount of their hardware is faulty. Sony requires a receipt when your warranty is valid and they require your receipt and 150 bucks i think for the consoles at least when you're out of warranty. Sony as a whole is in a bad spot due to the economy obviously, but i don't worry about the fate of their system. The way I see it, gone are the days you can say PS3 has a crappy library, i doubt it will ever be ahead of microsoft in sales or popularity, but i think it'll do fair for years to come. I mean, if developers felt the same as you do right now, do you think they'd be including ps3 in all the yet to be finished multiplat titles? In short it seems to me the industry has confidence in the ps3, and the current install base seems large enough to promote decent software sales. This is just what i think, i don't look at the numbers, i just enjoy my ps3 and don't worry about the brand dying =).

Just read an article where they compare sales figures ( units sold ) versus time frame ( time available on market ) and the PS3 beat the Xbox 360 to 20 million units sold by a good margin. Dont sweat it.

overly paranoid. If anything goes under it'll be the 360. They are losing there 3rd party exclusives, and they don't have any 1st party exclusives to backup the system. Also, even though they do have a great warranty, just imagine as a company how much money they've spent on repairs of the 360. Just look at the 09 lineup for PS3, to me the future looks bright for sony and the PS3.

And when you see debates about which game will set the next graphical leap, you never hear a 360 exclusive mentioned...it only seems like a battle between PS3 exclusives. Not even Alan Wake gets a mention. It really seems like Microsoft are no longer interested in showing off what their console can do, while Sony on the other hand are eager to show just what the PS3 can do.

YOur worrying about a multi-billion dollor company? They will be fine I mean there sony for crying out load. O and about your headset all three companies want's you too show proof that its yours(the recepit) and you don't know if your the only one with a broken headset. So relax Killzone 2 is coming up stop worrying about sales. Worry about games remember you can't play sales(WII).

If, and I emphasize, IF for some spanominal reason the PS3 dies out at the end of 2010 and no more exclusive games are announced all I'll do is get an X360. Its no biggy. If there is no PS4 I'll just get the XBox 720 or whatever console the high-end games will be made on. I'm not really attached to or a die hard loyal fan to Sony I'm just loyal to the game developer's I grew up with like; Naughty Dog, Team Ico, Level-5, Squaresoft, Nippon Ichi.

TC, since you have been with the PS1, PS2 and now the PS3 like i am... where is that trust? don't you think the PS3 is great and it can pull through against the competition... try looking at our 2009 exclusives lineup, so far its the best... maybe it will ease up your worries a bit.

Right now, the 360 is making money for MS, so it's not going under. MS are gaining marketshare, which is basically what matters to them in their second gen. Sony needs to pick it up with the PS3. They've got the lineup, but they need to work on advertising and getting a price drop, or they're going to be in trouble.
