It's not just the PSP man.
Droping out of college because of a video game happens everytime, in fact it is just on the surface of video games addiction.
In my years of being a computer game enthusiast, i have seen people played a game 90+ hours straight and died. I have seen people kill for video games. I know dozens of people in rehabilitation today because of video games. I have seen wasted and destroyed lives, and i have been there.
world of warcraftff7isnumbaone
lol i think i'll pass. cause i heard lots of people traded their souls for WoW
Cyber_ic...what are you?, my mum??!
If people want to play games than let them play games!! it's your own friends fault that he dropped outta collage! Yes , games can be addictive, but any idiot can reallies that getting qualifications is a tiny bit more important than wasting an hour or two on games!!
I like games!! I would marry my PS3 if it could talk and provided....."services".....but even i have will-power!!
don't attack other people for having a "hobby" (as you so infuriatingly put it) and act like the Gandi of the gaming world!!
There are plenty things worse than games to have as a hobby!!
....And please dont refer to games as a hobby, it's a little more complex than that!!
well i would rather marry my ps3 or my psp than a guy... HAHA! One guy even married a barbie! hhahaha id even go for that... its all about control man.... but its also minding your own **** you posted the thread.. we get it.. your not into games... now just go to your myspace or whatever page and make start your own GET - A - LIFE foundation or some **** write.that.down.
Ok, Cyber_jp, fair enough, i was wrong about your user name, it looks just like an i from hear!!..not a j..
secondly, you seriously believed that i would marry a PS3 didn't you?! Jesus Christ! you really are that dense!!!
thirdly, enough with the Nelson Mandela act! you arn't the saviour of all us, poor, trapped, tortured, souls..like i said, it's your Friend's fault that he dropped collage, maby if you where that concerned about are "addiction" then maby you would have help your mate out?
4. Ever herd of paragraphs?
5ith, now i know this is going to sound supid but i would consider gaming a "lifestyle"...
Think about it, most gamers spend their 'ching''ching' on the latest and greatest games and consoles.
Many such as myself buy game-related magazines, some even travel to different countries to see gaming conferences or competitions, it's a bit more complex than a hobby!!
So do you see now??
Im not an addict..At the most, i can handle about 3 hours of games a day, but that's only when i'm ill or something!!..i usualy get about 4-6 hours a week..which is less than an hour a day!!..bare in mind, this is when i'm at home and have nothing to do!!
I enjoy getting out a plenty, walking my dog along the river and jumping off big things that hurt me....this is better known as "freestyling"..... i really suck at it, i have already broken my leg 3 times in the last 6 months....hence lots of gaming time!
Oh, and saying, "yer, saying gaming is a way of life was stupid!!!" is a REAL original comment!!
Yeah man, It's call exaggeration. Of course he wouldn't marry his ps3. He just likes to play it. Only people who are complete adicts would drop out of college for that!!!!!! . Oh thx for changing title 8):!championbossman
Yes thank-you!!..So this is what is feel like to have some-one agree with you? most people just get angry with my post's if it's not what they want to hear!!..still, if you don't want to hear the other side of the story, don't post a topic that will make petty-much everyone aggravated!!
if the man wants to drop out for getting pwnd on sum game then let the man fail
One time when i had an original gameboy i was playing some game & i lost so i pretended to throw the psp at my wall and as i cocked my arm back the Gameboy flew out of my hand and hit the back of the wall thus ended its life:cry:
so when you do stupid Poop when losing you just might lose again, i think thats called "Epic Fail" :|
I guess it's up to the parents to control their kid. Back home people used to cut classes for games like Diablo & Counterstrike, & when they get home they play even more with their home consoles. Video games is really addicting & most men ages 16-21 are really immature & can really get addicted & forget the rest of their life. When I started playing the trial version of WOW it reminded me of Diablo II & I decided this is not for me because I don't want to spend the rest of my life playing a fantasy game... I have responsibilities & bills to pay. I remember getting addicted in video games that I play whenever I can & I don't even care what's going on with the world I was a very immature then, I think the parents should give limits to what they give to their kids.4dry4n
You my friend are right im 19 and play games since im 3. Im not weirs or anything, just a normal guy. Only problem is that video games are too addicting for my own good. Only God will save me from them. That i believe will happen very soon. Ive lateley lost a bit of interest already.
Well first of all have you considered getting glasses for your balls...eyeballs? cyber_jc ... And no i did not think that you would marry your PS3 but like you said people out there would in fact go to that extent i don't know if that's legal or anything.Oh yeah and he's not my mate i said that i read a it somewhere here cuz i think he got addicted to MHF2 or some game. You talk about paragraphs? well atleast it's not half as irritating as your super spelling skills, you tell me bout paragraphs you don't even use em'.So what if you consider gaming a lifestyle?!? that does not change the freakin fact that its for entertainment purposes and thus fulfilling the nature of it being a hobby! and i also think that alot of people consider gaming a lifestyle too but still it doesnt change things, maybe the business but not the fact that its a hobby. And what the hell?!? im not trying to be a hero or something like what i said earlier in this topic i was just trying to make people aware! what the hell is wrong with that?!? does that make me g@y? i dont think so id rather play call of booty than call of duty. News flash the points you made earlier are nonsense! your like throwing pointless sh*t who cares if you freestyle or whatever. Maybe your just too offended by this non-offending topic cuz you seem to be really affected by it. LOL

Ok, now calm down Ghandi, your robe might fall off!!
..ok, to clear this up...what are you on about say that i have "super spelling skills" or something??
..i said "have you ever heard of a paragraph" (clearly not..) and they you said something like "well you clearly haven't ether"............................................err.................pretty much everything i write is in paragraphs........and my supposed "super duper spelling skill" hasn't really got anything to do with paragraphs..does it?
Anyway, this is what i'm taking about....you ain't using paragraphs, i stopped half way your speech there because i realised i was reading the same line over, and over, and over, and over!!
Oh, and to be honest, if that guy who dropped outta collage wasn't your mate, than what is it to you what he does with his life??
well mr.i went to school (clearly not) im talkin bout you creatively spelling words in a new way err...or whatever you call it. HAHA p.s. those arent paragraphs grahahahaha not my fault your so stupid to read the same line over and over again now is it :| and i care bout the guy cuz i simply care! We live in the same world dude the question should have been why don't you care or in the sense of that. cyber_jc
You didn't go to school?..oh, i'm sorry, i should have realised when you didn't know what a paragraph was..
And now that i see you have learned what a paragraph is!...i can't help but feel i had something to do with it...
I meen after all, i was the one who pointed out that you where not using paragraphs...and like you said...i'm an idiot.....
...so why would you take the advice of an idiot??....hmm? that is a tricky one, but i can't work it out because my tiny brain is soo tiny i can't think.?????
I can't work it out?!?!...maby you can help me Cyber_jc..*cough*..sorry, i meen Ghandi, after all, your really smart and well-loved by everyone!!!
ill be seeing you guys at the WWE.. oh **** that one's fake.. how bout UFC..... i'll sit beside the guy who got addicted to the MH game and laugh at you guys.. u guys are now fighting about paragraphs and spelling... man and i thought we are getting a good fight here.. well im addicted to MH1 now and i still have a job.. like i said.. its all about CONTROL.... that guy was a bad example... but he did what he liked and liked what he did.. well i guess for now... he's probably gonna regret it.. i guess he's rich and doesn't mind dropping off college for a game... but its his life.. and its like that, its just that way it is... write.that.down. WORLD PEACE
hah u make great points....iono ppls get way to caught up in there cyber world and forget bout reality
thats wat happens to addicts.....it aint easy goin coldturkey though
You know what Cuber-ic, i really don't care anymore..
And i find it a bit ignorant that you complain about my spelling mistake when you have plenty of your own in your posts. I didn't actualy realise that mean was spelt meen because it always comes up as a spelling mistake when i use Microsoft Word...and i use Microsoft Word alot!!
I eventually gave up my copy of MHF2 because of how great it is. It's so great it was dominating every minute of my free time. The game is so ridiculously deep and addictive that I played it every chance I could, until I realized I had what was essentially the perfect game (for me) in my hands. When I was playing it at work, on the way home from work, and at home after work while ignoring my children, I realized that sometimes a game can be TOO good, and I sold it.
The true measure of a game's quality is how long you enjoy its positive features before its negative features become too hard to ignore. But for some games, that never happens. That was how I felt about MHF2...hence the game became crack to me. It's like that with a lot of gamers, too. You just have to keep your mind on your goals in life...and realize that these games we all enjoy are made for entertainment and leisure. Outside of the few of us that get paid to game, no one should be putting more time into a game than they do in other hobbies or activites, particularly those that can enhance your life (like learning a skill or a trade or just working). Games can easily cloud your ability to see how big the world is and how much opportunity is out there... don't let them. Enjoy them, but don't let games control your life. Not even GTA IV is that important.
THE END...............................I think the original poster's message has reached us loud and clear. It's not letting video games override our lives. The same applies to any hobby/interest. So, I think we should stop arguing.
Thank you, original poster!

Uhm... excuse me! but it doesn't apply to everything. If you have a hobby or interest that your good at letting it take over your life maybe a great stepping stone to greatness. For example musicians & athletes, I mean some video gamers earn from their hobby from international competition but it doesn't apply to all.I think the original poster's message has reached us loud and clear. It's not letting video games override our lives. The same applies to any hobby/interest. So, I think we should stop arguing.

In the end kids need advice and guidance regarding videogames & it's up to their folks to give the limits as to what & how much gaming they can have.
