Terrible. This is not a game, it's slightly more than a movie; meaning, this game is way too linear: no exploration whatever. The game forces you to go from A to B. I wonder if the creators ever played games like Kings Quest, Gabriel Knight, or even Zelda. Those are what video games must have: Exploration. The point is to be able to freely roam and interact on a more than superficial level. If I want to be led around on a leash, I'd watch a movie.

Also, the fact that the characters don't talk, except in cut-scenes, is a huge minus. Had there been more interactivity, this might be overlooked.

Wow, I could not get past the first 20 minutes. Folklore is that bad

Sony: while improved graphics and colors are an important direction to go towards, if you completely rip out the sole of games, all meaning and enjoyment is lost and the product becomes a MERE LURE for hard-earned money to be thrown into a bottomless PIT.

How any professional reviewer can, in good conscience, give this game more than a 6 becomes evident when $ is promised.

I personally Loved the game. I really enjoyed the artistic style and the comic book like cut scenes. I also feel that they set the atmosphere quite well. Is it the greatest game out there, no, is it a fun game which goes a different direction, yes.

This is all opinion anyway, just my two cents.

The characters, artstyle and overall vibe are amazing and fresh. And although the comic cutscenes were original, they ware kind of static, it's a shame they didn't use the character models in full motion cutscenes. The linear structure was boring and the gameplay mechanics were not really that interesting. The most boring part was that you had to do all the levels twice, such a cheap way to lengthen the game.

that game was awsome. Everyone is just spoiled by graphics and cut scenes/ So what if it wasn't open world like grand theft auto or assassins creed.

So you didn't like it. That's fine.

I didn't think it was that bad. It just sounds like you were expecting something different and are now upset because it wasn't more like other games that you've played.

To be honest this thread is kind of irrelevant considering the game came out ages ago and was never that big of a deal anyway.

It was alright but could have really been an awesome rpg, just underdeveloped I thought. However, I was unable to make it through the game due to the fact that it really required no kind thought process about what to do next. Art style was absolutely awesome though they definitely nailed a cool art style which more games need to do

I didn't know that Folklore used a Comic-style cut scene but for a next gen game to use that, that's horrible.

The game's damn good for the low amount of budget and time spent on it and + it sold not so badly for a non IP game without any fans whatsoever and in the time when the PS3 was selling Terribly and had like only 3.5 milion units worldwide only IIRC :p.
