so wait, please tell me how,
Also, I noticed a lot of your comments were directly related to accessing XMB features in-game. We understand this is something you want and we are working on it. For the sake of keeping all the comments below on topic, please understand that we hear this request and are working toward a solution. When I have some more info to share on this, know that I will do so here on this blog.
turns into, "In-Game XMB access confirmed for next update"?
this is just retarded. Sony said they are WORKING on a solution. NOWHERE do they state that it's coming in the next update.

i retract my exactly and now i am with him
this does have some truth behind it
most companies cannot just say yes it will be here tomorrow or whatever
also if you look at the PS blog everytime they say they are working on something it usually happens in the next update
so i say it is 70/30 confirmed

He's not disputing that it's being worked on, he's disputing that it's coming in the next update, and he's right. They say they are working on it, not that it's confirmed for the next update. You are only assuming that's what it means, but in reality, all that is confirmed is that it's being worked on. I personally think we'll get in game XBM access when Home launches, but we'll still have to wait and see.

exactly. I know it's coming but it's certainly not "confirmed for the next update".
Sony has been "working on it" for quite some time now and there've been plenty of updates.
The author of that article is speculating...BIG TIME!
Don't get me wrong...I'd love for it to be in the next update and have it be here ASAP but I'm not going to get my hopes up because some random article writer is intepretting a statement that way.
Theres already a video of it on the internet, (In game XMB)but I can't stand it when noobs make up stories. Its not "Confirmed" for next update. I mean talk about a misleading topic title. NOWHERE was it confirmed by NOBODY.

They said major update so that would be a 2.0 not 1.91 , but either way i dont think we will see 2.0 until home comes out and hopefully it includes in game XMB.

If you're referring to the one from IGN, that was from a debug unit a loooong time ago that didn't have a working friends tab and only had user, settings, game, and friends for options on the xmb. That's no indication. To use the current XMB in-game requires far more memory.
If you're referring to the video about the cat game accessing friends list in game, that was done by the developers of that game and not by firmware.
Companies hesitate to say "This is true" because if it ends up being false, they have to listen to people say "But you told us it was true!" If they instead say "We think it's true, but we're not sure" then people still read it as "This is true." If they don't say anything, then the response will be "They don't tell us anything."
I think people need to chill out and realize that companies want to give us what we want, but they don't want to dig themselves into a hole and overcommit to something that they can't be sure of.
It would be nice if the XMB was available in games, and it will most likely happen. I'm sure there are issues that need to be worked out and I'd rather have a feature that has gone through the QA wringerinstead ofbeing half-assed.
with the in game xmb i dont care as much about music acess as much as being able to reconnect my headset in game when it disconnects.longhorn7
this is not the PS3's fault it is your headsets fault
all you have to do to fix this is press the on/off button and it should work again

just press it
like for example when you have it connected to your phone you leave it on right? then when someone calls you you just press the "call" button which is usually the on/off button and that activates it again
well it is the same thing with the games, just press the "call" button and it will "answer" the call
that is the problem with BT sets, they are made pirmarily for phones and answering phone calls so if you are not talking on it, it will "hang up" and you have to press the call button again

hmm ill try it next time but im not the only one with this problem. and i have gone back to the xmb to reconnect it and it says there is no bluetooth device connected at the moment. so im skeptical about your advice, but im not dumb enough to disregard it basically lol[QUOTE="dstryr13"][QUOTE="longhorn7"][QUOTE="dstryr13"][QUOTE="longhorn7"]with the in game xmb i dont care as much about music acess as much as being able to reconnect my headset in game when it disconnects.longhorn7

so i went back to the game and it did it again so i tried it again and it worked so that is the way i resolve that problem when it occurs
i could also be certain types of headset that make that possible too though cuz mine does it and my bro-in-law's does it and that is what we do to make it work
basically just like answering a call

Well i frankly dont care if it confirmed or rumored, i just want it. Its kinda tiresome stopping the game and then reading a message and all that stuff. I just want to see it sooner or later i dont care when as long as it is there.navigata
Now there's something we can all agree on.
By the way, it was nice gettin to play a game with ya Navi. Too bad I was always on the other side.
http://www.psu.com/In-Game-XMB-Overlay-Coming-In-The-Next-Update-News--a753-p0.phpdeadpool51
You misworded the title, they said the Next BIG update, they can easily make a 1.91 or 1.93, but those won't have in-game XMB overlay because they are not BIG updates, I expect it maybe next month or when Home is released.

Exactly, who knows how far they are with it, or to what would be even accessible. The blog did state they are simplying working on it, i have no idea why psu said next major update, just trying to create a buzz I guess. I still do think 2.0 will include in-game xmb because everyone has hyped it up. So at this point it would be a major let down for it to not to be included. I personally think we will see it in the 2.0 but only the friends list would be accessible and that would be fine by me.
