Sony has confirmed that in-game XMB access will be available sometime this year, but it could be here earlier than expected. In a mix-up on the US PlayStation Website, the PS3 section of the website mentioned "talk to others during gameplay, say hellow anytime you're online" but was then taken off the website shortly after. Luckly, the information is still available from Google's cache Also, the same information appears on the Australian PlayStation Website.

And I hope that you can play your own music in GTA IV via radio. Way better than in-game xmb.

Lame. Custom tracks are a waste. I actually hope we don't get this feature.

Custom tracks have been available since launch ps3s ever came out. Geez. The feature is already there, and sony has already confirmed its always been there. Developers are just too lazy to code for it. As long as a hard drive with the music files are present, you can code for the game to access it. But since they know you will buy their crappy games no matter what, developers don't bother.

But if/when in game xmb comes out you can manually browse to your audio folder and play your files, but i doubt that gta radio thing will happen, they are too lazy to work on the graphics, so i doubt they would work on custom soundtracks.

s this mean we'll be able to change the display format for a game with out having to exit out of game, if we forgot to do so before loading? That drives me nuts! If I'm playing Drake's in 1080, then switch to Vegas, I always forget to set max output to 720. Pi$$e$ me off!

I wake up on the right side everyday. It's just that prefer hearing the composers music for the game being a music producer myself. Some games have great music (God of war, FF7, FF8, FF9 etc). It's just an opinion of mine and I'm not trying to stop anyone from liking it.

I agree. With most of the games I get, I actually prefer to listen to the game's soundtrack. The only exception for me would be shooting games....and I don't have many of them, because shooting games are my least favorite kind of game. Maybe when more racing and fighting games come out (I'm really anticipating Soul Calibur IV and Midnight Club: Los Angeles), I'll have more of an use and interst for in game custom tracks (or in game XMB, or whatever you want to call it).

then dont use it. i dont understand why you dont. you play a game with a really bad soundtrack like pixeljunk monsters or everyday shooter, you can replace it with music you listen too. its obvious that you dont listen to music or else you would want it.

fighter jets have ejector seats but it doesnt mean that the pilots use them whenever they want but its there in case they need it. think of xmb as the same thing, it can save your life if a game has a boring soundtrack

Yer I agree with you in that respect mabey it is best to not let people play their crappy britney speares ablums over the hard work of the music producers.

These are very good points, but I would really only play music over games with popular music that the producers did not create, such as Burnout Paradise. When the music is selected from pop-culture(i.e. Avril Lavigne) I really don't care to hear that. I would rather play to my own music, as I do in my own car.
