Do you buy games you think are good and then review them. Or do you rent games at random when you hear about them, play the hel out of them, and then review them?

Yeah I mainly just research games and then but them. I never rent. I don't buy that many games so when I do, I make sure I know what I'm getting. I'm happy with all of my games and I know I'm getting LBP and maybe Motorstorm. I like to play my games a lot not just buy everyone and then give it 5-10 hrs of play time.

Never rent, never have, never will... Usually just do some research and look at a few reviews and make up my mind if it's worth a purchase.

I never rent. I do my research by checking out GameSpot everyday and reading the two game magazines to which I subscribe. My favorite way to really see if a game is good is to play a demo. The demos on the Playstation Store have saved me from buying some really bad games, while also introducing me to some titles I may not have ever thought about.

But are the reviews enough?

I can give various examples of games I've done my research on and still have been dissapointed.

My question would be; what would make you a REAL or, if I may, PRO gamer. Renting all games and testing them out and writing reviews, or just buying all the good ones. That seems a little bias to me.

It would be as if a chef saying he's the best chef in the world but he only eats and makes food made in America.

i always do some kind of research before i get a game.....but my main deciding factor is when i see the game in action....usually gamplay vids can either turn me off or on to a game...

Well, I take a quick gander before I leap, so basically I look at what features a game has and if it appeals to me then I'll decide after that. Unless it's a big game like GTAIV, DMC4, MGS4, FFXIII and the likes, then I definetly know if it's good or not before it comes out and before I know anything about it.

A little risky wouldn't you say? I remeber when i bought FFX-2 for the PS2 immediatly thinking it would be good because of FFX being amazing.

I was dissapointed.

I play games... I don't review them. Speaking my mind usually causes outrage.

I've rented lots of PS3 games before. Now after almost half a year of having a PS3, I have never rented. Usually, I do my research before buying the games. Because almost every single game I buy comes from my money. Out of the six PS3 games I have, I've bought three (I got the first three for my birthday).
