Do you buy games you think are good and then review them. Or do you rent games at random when you hear about them, play the hel out of them, and then review them?

Do you buy games you think are good and then review them. Or do you rent games at random when you hear about them, play the hel out of them, and then review them?
But are the reviews enough?
I can give various examples of games I've done my research on and still have been dissapointed.
My question would be; what would make you a REAL or, if I may, PRO gamer. Renting all games and testing them out and writing reviews, or just buying all the good ones. That seems a little bias to me.
It would be as if a chef saying he's the best chef in the world but he only eats and makes food made in America.
Well, I take a quick gander before I leap, so basically I look at what features a game has and if it appeals to me then I'll decide after that. Unless it's a big game like GTAIV, DMC4, MGS4, FFXIII and the likes, then I definetly know if it's good or not before it comes out and before I know anything about it.SPD_WeBmAsTaH
A little risky wouldn't you say? I remeber when i bought FFX-2 for the PS2 immediatly thinking it would be good because of FFX being amazing.
I was dissapointed.
Yeah I mainly just research games and then but them. I never rent. I don't buy that many games so when I do, I make sure I know what I'm getting. I'm happy with all of my games and I know I'm getting LBP and maybe Motorstorm. I like to play my games a lot not just buy everyone and then give it 5-10 hrs of play time.jasong1011
same here. i research and if it sounds fun then i get. although motorstorm sucked to me.
