This is my first topic on gamespot. After playing infamous and seeing its awsome ending, that will surely be leading towards a sequel (or at least i hope) i started thinking about online. Now i know i lot of you are going to say that single player is all that matters, and that's what i used to think until uncharted 2 which has introduced me to online multiplayer. Before the only online games i had ever played were first person shooters, needless to say i wasn't a big fan of it (probably cuz i'm not a big fan of first person shooters) but the thought of infamous online was getting me excited.... and no not that kind of excited, you people and your dirty minds.... oh wait i brought it up anywho back on topic would u relish at a prospect of infamous 2 with online, also has anyone heard anything about online or anything about anything for that matter. Thank you in advance for your comments, and if there aren't any comments u can all go.................... away. yeah thats right

Online is sometimes really annoying on games. I've barely played Uncharted 2 online, GTA IV online was fun for a bit but gets old quick and the servers weren't very good, Infamous I can't see it working =/

I think with enough new characters introduced with powers it could work. uncharted 2's single player is no worse with the amazing online, and Bioshock 2 looks to do the same. I think that a co-op "sidekick" component could work, and some crackdown like blasting away at eachother with a few ranks and unlocks thrown in for longevity would definitely work. I would love some sort of Horde mode though, where you and a few hero buddie defend against a never ending wave of gang members.

They're adding online to everything these days, so I wouldn't doubt it. Actually I would almost bet on it.

I don't think something like that would work... 3rd person games like Uncharted 2 and InFamous souldn't have MP, IMO... MP is for shooters... Co-op maybe, but not MP...

I've grown weary of the online bullet point, so no I do think the game needs it, nor do I have any real desire for it. But like the above poster said, with games even like Assassins Creed turing to online play to sell copies, it wouldn't surprise me to see it in InFamous game.

I will say that I would prefer they have a more focused approach, Bioshock and Half-Life had a focus on a singular goal and those are 2 of the best games ever made. If inFAMOUS can make it work like Uncharted 2 did, I'm all for it but I'd much prefer they stick to giving the campaign more depth, more to do in the open world and giving it some more polish.

With games like Killzone 2 and CoD a split focus works since the MP is just as important as SP in those types of linear shooter games, while Left 4 Dead is just a pure co-op action game with a little PvP going on. Sure Crackdown and GTA made online work almost as good, but if it doesn't tear me away from other, better online games then I think Sucker Punch should just stay focused on the story.

Also it works in uncharted because uncharted is more of a shooter game that has cover and stuff. Infamous is one of those games that you dont need to take cover to much.

No, not for ACIII. It's a new AC game that continues Ezio's story.

I'm sure it will probably happen since the addition of ridiculous multiplayer is such a big selling point these days. I really don't see how it would work. i mean, how are you gonna hurt somebody with electricity powers when all you got is.... electricity powers? I don't want to play as no stupid reaver or trash-bagger, either. I think some sort of co-op is their best bet.

Well inFamous is a lot like a 3rd person shooter with lightning attacks instead of bullets when you think about it so maybe it could work if they added a cover system.... i doubt it tho

Noooo, I'm sick of online games. Give me a great story and 10+ hours of gameplay and I'll be happy. I'm glad games like god of war didn't go online and I hope infamous doesn't go that route.

Naw, online gaming is slowly ruining single player games in my personal opinion. Don't get me wrong I do play online and enjoy it, but when all you get is a 5-6 hr single player mode in a $60 title I feel ripped off to sum degree. For I2 I simply want bigger, badder powers, a smarter AI, and for them to get rid of the inverted right and left.

NO! The last thing inFamous needs is online. This and Assassin's Creed are two games that should not have online (though AC is getting it this year).

Maybe they could drop in a Demon's Souls type multiplayer. Its a way to put multiplayer in a single player experience.

Maybe they could do something like Demon's Soul where a player can travel to another player's world (maybe those two players have to be of opposite morality) and they can have a fight or something.

If there attempt at putting in online would take away anything from the single player i wouldn't want it, but sometimes i put in inFAMOUS just to play as cole and his awsome powers and it would be nice if there was something to do, online would give you that.

As long as the single-player campaign lives up to the quality of its predecessor, Sucker Punch can do whatever else they want to do with the game in terms of online. If the single-player lives up to my expectations based on the first game, I'd be happy to see them try to add some type of multiplayer, but only as long as they don't lose sight of the fact that the single-player is most important, like Naughty Dog.
